Had a Terminator Cobra hanging around my cousin's shop so I sized up his rear wheel/tire combo.
275/35/18 tire. Wheels are 10" wide

Got the seat to move for probably the first time in a decade!

I thought it was just the coupler but I needed a whole new seat transmission because the old housing literally crumbled to pieces trying to remove it.

Last night on a whim me and a buddy drove to Omaha in the Regal (4.5 hour round trip) and picked up a set of T Type wheels with some vintage Goodyear Eagle STs. In this instance, I use the word vintage as a synonym for shitty. They hold air and drive well enough, but damn they don't grip for nothin. Anywho, that was $300 well spent. And I found out my car gets about 17.5 MPG highway. 10 city, 17.5 highway. lol.
That looks soooo much better good score

So today i actually remembered to take a camera AND to take some pix along the way

First up is the previous owner's frame hackery
SAM_1728.JPG

I didn't take any pics during (old habits and all that) but this is done (I did round out the left end a tiny bit after the pic)

SAM_1765.JPG

Other side

SAM_1729.JPG

Hole cleaned up

SAM_1769.JPG

Filler cut and handle attached

SAM_1770.JPG

Filled and ground
SAM_1771.JPG

Hole elongated and dressed, just had to clean up the stalactite by the fuel line.

SAM_1772.JPG

Next up was seat mounting. For some reason, the PO hacked out the outboard seat mount to put the godawful nasty Cherokee seats in

SAM_1768.JPG

After I removed the bracket from the sedan donor floor. I also added the split bench/bucket floor mounts and welded up a bunch of random holes they had used to mount the Jeep seats

SAM_1773.JPG

Also fixed 2 stripped deck lid hinge bolt holes...no pics

It was a good day, finally got something done going forward. The frame deal probably wasn't a big issue for a lot of people, but it bugged the hell out of me.

Nothing major. Installed the little rear bumper C trim pieces, then had to work the driver door wiring boot into place...man that was a total PITA!!!! Then I had to fish the window wiring through to the interior.

Oh, then I took a pic of the trans. Just thought it is cool that it clearly states what type of badassery will be hiding under the body!

Dang Ribbedroof, the guy really hacked it up. I took the V6 ( Buick 3.8) mounts out with no problem.
I put the Chevy style V8 mounts in this morning. A long extension and a 15 mm flex socket and it went together quickly . Front suspension is on but I did take off the tires.
Very nice repair work Ribbedroof. Looks like it never happened. I’m slowly but surely improving my skills.
I did get the engine and transmission in today , so a little more progress..
