Hmm.

I like the idea but at least prior models has some resemblance of the original. BUT, at some point they need to break the mold and start working towards making their way to unseating the Porsche 911 as the daily driver "supercar" for the masses.

They already shook all the old guys with the C7 having the square tails, that was to soften the blow for what they need to truly compete in the supercar world

A friend of mine was telling me recently that GM has announced that 2023 will be the last year that they will build vehicles with internal combustion engines. I wonder where that will leave the Corvette?

The renderings have a lot of Lambo in them. It will be just something else Corvette guy can b*tch about. I can hear them shouting Get off my Lawn!!!! in my head already.

In the town I live in they drive MacLaren's to the Lowes and Ferrari FF's park on the curb outside their brownstone and go the to the 7/11 around the corner from my house for a Slurpee, so a daily driven supercar is basically any supercar. I don't predict these will rate a big deal, here.. but in In the wannabe next town over, I can see them being a huge hit and those guys cruising through our town's main drag with the muffler cut outs open.

Your friend has been drinking too much of the koolaid. We don't have an electric grid infrastructure to support that nonsense and defintely will not in 5 years. All IC Vehicles will have helper motors for start/stop, launch assist, etc. so everything may be hybridized by 2023, but internal combustion will live on.

The "pushrod" should be dead by 2023.
