Hi I trying to push to the look and performance on my 85 Elky. I am currently running in 18 x 10 in the rear and an 18 x 8 in the front. I want to run something like a 20x11 rear, 20x9 front. I'm on Viking coilovers full suspension and rear end. It's pushing over 750 horsepower so I'm not worried about the weight of the 20 inch rim. I kind of want to have a road race style and look, although I know they pretty much always run an 18 in that class. I'm willing to do body notching or whatever it takes to fit a wider wheel combination on car to get the look am I after. Does anybody know offsets or have done this? Thanks in advance.

Forget about offset, backspacing is what matters. The max safe backspacing on the rear is 4.5", with some claiming they've fit 5" backspacing wheels on the rear. There are G-bodies with 22x11s on the rear with stock, unmodified frames and just rolled wheelwell lips.

Got it so I need to focus on back spacing... I've already rolled the rear fender Wells with the 18 x 10 on there, But American Racing told me the wrong offset so I had to use a inch and a half spacer to get it away from the body now it comes in contact with the fender well if I lower it down too much. Can't win.. thanks for your help Qdub24 though, at least I know it's possible now!!!

No problem, hope you can get it straightened out and toss the spacers in the nearest trash bin.

If you notch the frame in back, 11" rims with 6-6.5" backspacing should fit. In Front, the inner fenders need work for tires over 255 on lowered cars, regardless of wheel size, but once reworked, 275 or even larger can fit in front.

So some say you can get away with an 11 inch rim in the rear with no body Notch so I'm wondering do you think a 12in wheel could fit, anybody running a 12 in wide rim currently on their G-Body?

With frame notching, you can fit 12" wide rear wheels.
