It looks like half my vibration and noise issues were the exhaust banging around. I added another hanger, and it's like a completely different car!
I also changed the oil again (2nd since rebuild), and that noisy lifter seems to.have shut up again. I cracked the filter open, and there's no bearing material, so that's a plus.

It's still 19-26. It's hard to measure without going to the same pump at the same station due to the rear fill and grades at the pump. Nose up, less gas vs. Nose down, more... I'm good with what it's getting. I just need to work the bugs and trim it out.
Today was full of refrigeration dreams, for I might actually get the AC working tor the first time since I got the car 5 years agp. I went to my buddy's place and he has a vacuum pump, gauges, and a big jug of 134. Sucked it down, hooked up the juice, aaaaaand nothing. So, I get to testing, and most everything checks out. Compressor still won't engage, though. He suggested hitting the compressor with voltage to see what gives, so I put a jumper across the battery to the compressor. It arced pretty good touching it to the battery, but eventually started the compressor. Then, there was smoke..... and orange= not good. As it turns out, there's a fusible link in the harness, up by the injectors, and that's what smoked. Now I have to figure that out. Yay
Yeah, be careful with this one Bruce. [Probably told this before somewhere?] We finally got our first nice car when I was a kid, a 67 Olds Delta. Turns out my Uncle Jerry we bought it from kept popping fuses so he just wired it direct with a larger gauge wire. When you burn a car clear to the ground it is a little hard to tell what started it but the AC was what I had turned on just before the smoke and fire started and there was no fuseable link. And the FIRST time I got to drive it.

There is definitely something up with your compressor. Likely the clutch but hard to tell from here . . .

That's the frustrating part -all new or reman stuff. Plus, it all goes through the magic computer box...
I feal your pain that harnes was all cut up in my truck and of course I have no idea
Looking at my FSM, compressor signal from computer is ground, output from relay is hot. Both dark green, one with a white stripe. I bet I crossed them somewhere. Ima head to the you pull it, and see if I can find some fusible links and a pressure switch, first. Who doesn't love a Sunday junkyard run in the rain?
