Shame you're in cali. You should move to America, like Iowa. No one gives a sh*t here. :D
Anyway, cool car man. As mentioned above, as much as it hate to say it, your options pretty much are just SBC or an LS engine. A Turbo V6 would be nice, basically just as much wiring as an LS. I don't know how strict or in depth the inspections are, could one get away with a 350 olds swap?
I think so but most of the shops will make it pass if you know what I mean lol mine passes normally thank god

I wanna make it a cruiser so far I’ve just been looking at SBC since it’s in my budget for now until I get another job & thanks appreciate it
Nice regal man. Welcome back
Good luck on the engine hunt!
Thanks bro appreciate it,nice car as well I love those regal limited’s with the extra lights on the front side bumpers make it look badass
True true & mines actually a V8
Hey Jose! Welacome aboard. So if your looking for the cheaper way out swap in the same type of engine you have or a Chevy small block. If you want to stand out go for a Buick 455.;)
thanks I’ll look into that,I kinda wanna keep the car all GM especially with the motor but I never knew they had gm crate engines besides the ones for trucks thanks for that

Welcome. Nice car. Since you already have a new carb and water pump, and with .Ca. laws, for a cruiser, replacing the same engine would be easiest and less $$$$.

Nice Limited! I had an '83 back in the day...with a 305, and pincushion velour 40/60 seats. The potpourri smell was so strong inside when I bought it, my buddy and I smoked 2 White Owl cigars with the windows up the night I bought it just to get the smell out. Ah, good times!

Welcome to the site from Houston. Cool car. I recommend just fixing what you have so you can drive and enjoy the car. At that point if it isn't fast enough for you save money and gather parts for an engine swap. That way you can drive and enjoy the car sooner rather than later but work towards a different power plant if what you have doesn't satisfy you. Do your homework on what you can swap in the car and still get it smogged out there in California. It would be a shame to go through all of the expense and trouble of doing the swap and not be able to get the car smogged and be able to drive it.
