Did Jeff Gordon own that? Dupont sponsored special?

The 90s were a turbulent time for styling. The one I tried to buy last week was teal and pink on black.

Painters finished up for now.

Also, electricians came in and got most of the lighting, switches, and outlets done.

Looks like the tile has been delivered and the stone guy started his prep too. Things are looking up.

So while all that was happening, I was playing in the desert on the west side of Owyhee Reservoir. This was basecamp.

Pretty nice free campground right below the dam.

We only rode a few hours on Friday afternoon.

Not sure what this phenomena is called but it was constant on Saturday.

First rattler died by Glock.

They don't have nearly as much meat on them as you might think. But they do taste like chicken.

Saturday we rode 109 miles to the south end of the lake and back. This is the headwaters where the upper Owyhee river feeds the lake.

This cabin was nearby.

And this piece of equipment wasn't too far from there. Nowhere near any field. Just sitting in the sagebrush.

We took a side spur to try to ride to an air strip shown on the map. It had probably been years since anyone had been on that road/trail.

We went as far as we could but it was washed out with no way around. Probably less than a mile to the location. I think I probably could have found a way on the bike but no way for the guys on quads and the side by side.

After backtracking, we found our way though some low marsh lands before finally coming out at Freezeout camp.

Last snake died by .44 mag. He didn't get eaten but might end up as a hat band.

It was a great weekend. No one got hurt and we saw lots of country.

There were farms out there. A few on the other side of the lake too. The gooberment bought (stole) them to make room for the reservoir. They are out in the middle of effin nowhere. Spent a weekend blasting around the dez in this tacoma my buddy built. Total Chaos long travel front suspension, deaver springs in the rear, King shocks, full cage that extends through the firewall and ties onto the front of the frame as well as out the rear of the cab. Fiberglass bedsides, the tire carrier tilts out of the way so you can access the 40 gallon fuel cell. Had custom Tundra front axle shafts so the 4wd worked. 5 point harnesses. Pretty gnarly rig.

I love the repurposed Cessna wheel spats on your camper trailer. In New Mexico, the apparent ring around the sun is called a sun dog. Looks like you continue to have a nice life out there. Enjoy!

There's a lot to see out there. Hoping over the coming years to see more of it. Most of my time has been on the West side but I know there are some points of interest south of Tunnel Canyon.

Meet the Rainbro Warrior.
View attachment 88627 View attachment 88628 I saw this on CL yesterday and asked a buddy who was local if he'd pick it up for me. He did because he's awesome. Nothing really special but the price was right. My plan is to get current on all the maintenance and do a couple small comfort upgrades once I get it home in a few weeks (it's 450 miles away). Then it'll be my loaner for when buddies are in town.
More in a month or two on this one.
These are cool bikes, I've been looking for a deal on one myself.
