How is everyone mounting their radiator when using the turbobuick/307 top plate? Mine is currently loosely mounted between the core support and top plate. But something doesn't seem right....there is quite a bit of room for movement. I see summit sells universal radiator insulators that would go between the radiator and the core support/ top plate.....I'm thinking about trying them...but curious what everyone else is doing?

Are you using an aluminum radiator ? If you are that is probably the issue. The tanks are wider than stock so the rubber saddles dont fit right. If its the stock copper/brass radiator you dont have something set up right. Are you sure you have the right saddles ?

When i switched to the bigger aluminum radiator the aftermarket rubber insulators didn't fit because it doesn't have the high spots where the tank meets the core for the rubber saddles to land.i ended up getting some half inch rubber square stock from McMastercarr.i trimmed it to fit it worked well.

That's the thing....I don't remember it having any saddles at all....but I pulled the car apart around 8-9 months ago and my memory is little hazy. From the factory, were there just 2 saddles below the radiator ...... or 2 above also?

The top plate has a saddle on each side that slips over the top of the tank. Theyre held in by the small rubber nub that sticks through the hole on each side.
