Vintage Air does not make a kit for G Body's. The kit I ordered is from ArizonaGN (see link below), they are a small family business. It consists of the VA Magnum and some custom pieces specifically for our cars. It is a little pricey ($2200), but it was worth it to me not to have to re-engineer a universal kit to fit. I'll post detailed pics when I install for everybody.

What did this combo run in the El camino?

We did not run this engine combo in the El Co. The El Camino ran a 7.0 1/8th. It is the same motor but there were significant changes to make it more streetable. I lowered compression, smaller cam, and changed from a Holley Dominator (carb) to the Terminator EFI system. If you want specifics on the El Co motor or this one PM me with any questions.

Blowing the car apart (again) to go to the body shop next week. I'm old, fat, tired, unmotivated, and it's frigging hot in central Texas!!!

Just a heads up for anyone who is considering purchasing a Ididit steering column. Please bear with me I’m a little annoyed. I called Ididit and built my column (on paper) with them. They do not sell to individuals, so they had one of their vendors call me to finalize the order. So… that was 23 May 2018, I was then told it would be 8 weeks (that’s right 2 months). I called today and was told it would be another 2x weeks. I’m not so worried about it because the car is still in the body shop. I’m more annoyed that a company specializes in steering columns takes 2+ months to get it done, but can take my $ the same day it was ordered. I have a Flaming River column in my Camaro and I should have just ordered from them. I would have had it in 2 weeks.

END STATE: Don’t bother with Ididit unless you really like waiting.
