Very sharp car with a lot of stuff done, my only question is after putting all that power in with an LSA why keep the stock brakes?

"Nicest" Monte Carlo in the country was mentioned several times. It is a very subjective statement. The owner definitely has a lot of money into it but that doesn't make it the nicest car around. The body work looks really nice but I'm not big on all the custom interior modifications or the wheels. I would much rather own a MCSS that looks factory stock but with a beast power train and suspension....What was wrong with the factory instrument panel? That custom job just looks weird...Just my opinion.

With most of these spotlighted builds with G bodies anymore, it seems popular to rip all the 80s ouf of the 80s cars. Which begs the question, why the hell did you even buy a 80s car in the first place if you are going to turn it into an ad hoc modern car and rip everything 80s out of it?

It's called hot rodding. Same reason people put 396 engines in 57 Chevys. You take 20-30 year old cars and put "more modern" drivetrains in them. Lots of times they call it restifying. Looks stock or some variant of mostly stock, but the underpinnings are all updated to the better stuff that makes it safer/faster/better/lighter, etc., but isn't quite as noticeable. Like if you see that Monte SS on the street, even if you put stock wheels and restriped it, as long as you didn't open the hood, it might be hard to tell the engine wasn't a 305 just sitting there.

I prefer my G-bodies bone stock or close to it, but everyone paints on a different canvas.

Obviously, to make them better than they were in the first place. All that Monte needs to be all it can be is a big disc brake upgrade. Judging by the work already done, I'm sure it's in the works.
