My 94' Lincoln has temp and compass with map lights because I have a power sunroof, probably other vehicles with power sunroofs would do the same.
I'm thinking 96 Olds Aurora has map lights and compass Steve but I'm working on faulty memory. My step dad had one but its been a long time. The baby Northstar blew a head gasket in around 2001 and that was the end of that. I'm guessing other high end GM cars with a sun roof will have it as well.
My '95 Olds Ciera has a nice map light in it. It has an individual light (and switch) for the driver and passenger. No compass, or digital temp gauges though.
I'm going to head to the yard this weekend to see what I can find, first priority if map lights and then whatever esle I can find. I writing down the cars and trucks you are all mentioning to help me in my search so I appreciate any and all suggestions..
Well there you go... I routinely skip the Ford, and Mopar section of the J yard, when searching for swap parts
I only know what I know so that's why I ask and every time I'm shown this forum is probably the best on the internet...
Try 93-95 Camaros. They have map light switches (no compass etc.). I pretty sure that's what I put in my 85 Camaro
