So I know I said this week would be slim on the updates, but I couldn't help myself. I found 2 great deals I couldn't pass up. Both saved me alot of money in the long run, so I pulled the trigger...
1st - Rear trunk trim. Mine was missing from the car when I bought it. I found a NOS piece on Ebay. The guy was asking $145 or best offer, with free shipping. So I offered $100. He accepted immediately, so it's mine. I will powder coat it, along with all other metal trim on the car.

2nd - TA Performance SP1 intake manifold. It was purchased new and never used. It was listed on a FB forum for $200. I offered $160, and the guy accepted. These cost $385 + shipping, from TA Performance. Hell of a deal. I had to drive 2 hours to pick it up, but it will have a new home on my 455. It needs a little clean up, but nothing a little Carb cleaner and a tooth brush and/or EZ Off oven cleaner can't handle.

I also got in the attic and found a couple more parts. The Marshall liquid-filled fuel pressure gauge ( white face ) was sent in error, when I had ordered a carbon fiber one. They didn't want it back, so... it will have a new use on the 455's fuel system. Cost.. big fat 0. I also had some new carb studs from my old race truck. I had these in every length, for use with different spacer plates. These are 2", and I believe I will need 1", so I will carefully cut these down and use them. Another recycled part put to good use! These items will go great with the 800cfm Quadrajet I also got for free. (y)

I hope it works for you. But everyone that I know who has used a liquid filled gauge gets false readings on there fuel pressure.

Once the engine heat builds up under the hood.

If that is where you are mounting the gauge.

That inlet fitting looks odd...
And it will need another arm (from a late 70s buick 350 carb), for the kickdown nub on the linkage as mentioned previously.

Edelbrock sells bolts for a qjet. Look em up on summit. Two long, two short. That SP1 is an open plenum, as you can see. It will give up some low end torque on any engine. But with a 455 shouldn't be a problem.

Found the bolts, and here's the info from TA Performance.

This intake is the best choice for 400+ HP combinations that will be street/strip or full race with power bands that peak between 5000 and 6500 RPM. Performs equally well on the street as well as in competition, this single plane intake manifold makes power from idle to 6200 RPM out of the box and with a match port job this intake will run to 7000 RPM. The runners are long and narrow to keep velocity up, and the last 2-3 inches of runner are straight to direct the air and fuel right at the valves. This means faster airflow and less fuel dropping out of the charge, which results in better throttle response and less low end power loss normally associated with single plane intake designs.

Like you said, it shouldn't be a problem. It's the only single plane intake I've seen described as making power from idle, and I will be making more than 400 HP, so this was a no brainer for me. Not to mention the cost.
