That is impressive, a member on here killed 2 later V6 4th gen F body trans behind a W31 cloned Olds 350. He did figure it was either too long of an input shaft or low fluid or both. They have the highest rating at 310 ft/lbs. Very lucky indeed, your 400 ft/lbs should kill it dead.

Very sharp Cutlass Tim, me likey!!! I really think you nailed the paint scheme with the wheels, interior, etc. It's an overall nice build.
Your story is VERY similar to mine, I bought my '87 Cutlass as my first car at 17 years old in 2001. I've had it since, it's been through many transformations, but it currently has fresh metallic gunmetal paint, wheels, frame done, and ready for the freshly built LS/4L80E to go in. I'm not gonna muddy up your thread, so I'll just throw one recent pic in.

Well low on fluid and not the right input shaft length will kill any trans bullet proof or not. When I put the trans in, they were a dime a dozen so I really didn’t care if I blew it up. Now people want stupid money for them. I’ll either do a TREMEC or T56 if/when the time comes before I spend $600 on a used t5. I think most I paid for a t5 was $300 and that was high. I guess there’s not a ton of them lying around anymore or just not in my area, I try to look now and then to have a spare laying around but haven’t needed one yet so it is what it is. It’s a nice match with the GN 3:42 rear , perefect blend of performance / fuel economy as I do drive the car on long trips when I can

Thanks Scott,
Muddy it up all you want. I love GBodys so go for it! Yours looks killer with that gunmetal paint. My wife’s toy is a 14 Gt mustang and hers is gunmetal like yours and I love the color. Nice wheels too. That’s one thing I would do if I didn’t have a awesome motor in my car now, would be without a doubt LS swap. I’m like a little kid when I see anything that has a LS swap done to it. I just built a 54 Chevy truck that I LS swapped with a nv3500 5 speed. It’s in another thread I started in here under non gbody builds. If my engine ever blows, it will for sure be getting a LS swap
