Just finished my registration, I'll be there from Thursday thru Sunday of that week. Not bringing Betty since she's really not "big show" worthy, but would love to hang out with some fellow Olds folks there. I figure its just a couple three hours up the road from me so I don't have any excuse not to show. Going to shoot some video and hopefully some live stream stuff, too....

A few glitchy spots but it seems to be working well overall. Excellent video quality as well. Nicely done. Maybe next time try a drone! haha

Must say, that 19K W30 is sweet, but whoever decided to repaint it with those wild stripes should have been educated. Their money, their car, but maybe someone did it when the car was fairly new? Who knows. I'd have done it differently.

That red 69 442 near the beginning looks exactly like the one that was sitting on a used car lot (in about that shape too) back in 1979. I remember it had an auto trans but no limited slip. They was asking about 1800 or so for it then. Why did not I scrape up the cash for that back then? Oh, yeah, cuz I was young, stupid, and broke. :)

getting ready to head back down for another check here soon. I'll turn down the bitrate and see if it helps with the glitches/hiccups and then hit the resolution and start taking hits on quality vs. watchability. The arena has hi-speed wifi available for like $17 or $50 PER DAY(!) depending on the speed you want but if I can avoid that then heck yeah I Will. Judging starts today so all the cars should be there. I'm wondering if there's another part of the place that I'm missing bc the program lists a few hundred cars registered but there's no way they're all fitting in that one room.... will also hit the swap meet lot about mid-morning today, should be pretty active by then. Stay tuned. I've got a thread ongoing over at oldspower.com so check that out.

Check today's vids. I found the rest in another section of the building. I figured they had to be here someplace. Just finishing up lunch break and heading back down to get a closer look at some of the cars.

Checked out the G-Bodies here. Not sure what happened to the '82 Wagon race car that was here yesterday. Maybe they went to the track last night and blew it up. *shrug* No idea. This one got glitchy and blocky in places unfortunately. :(

Last day. Haven't been down yet but hopefully everyone hasn't bugged out already like I've been hearing. Shame when that happens. You signed up for the event so make the most of it. (I get it that some times its just not possible tho) ...

Also really sucks when you come to a freaking CAR SHOW and half the cars don't have their hoods open, windows down, tops down, t-tops out, etc. Come on guys, open it up. Show it off. If you're ashamed of it then just keep it home. At least they're not roped off to where you can't even get close to them. That one really burns me up.

Great job on covering the G-bodies.

I know you had some questions on some of the cars. Hopefully we can answer some of them.

The black 85 442- it appears the front bumper has been changed at some point. It looked to be chrome with clear parking lenses. ALL VIN 9 cars came with painted front/rear bumpers and amber parking lamps. It has correct style 442 decals on them.

The blue 87 442- Same for the decals. Correct for 87. Although the rear bumper emblem/decal SEEM a tad low from most I've seen. No big deal though, car looks excellent. The front bumper emblem originally was a single clear mylar decal with the 442 over the Oldsmobile all on one. A lot of times these start peeling on the edges (mine did) and I replaced it. Incorrectly as this one is too. The top of the 442 is right next to the bottom of the headlamp darn near with the "Oldsmobile" centered in the bumper. But GM replacement decals if you use the premask as a spacer puts it lower on the bumper. The gold pinstripe on the upper body break line, in my opinion only, is a bit overkill. But that's just my opinion which doesn't mean squat.

The burgundy 86 442- incorrect style for the period on the 442 lettering as you pointed out. The 442 emblem is on the correct side, but the Oldsmobile emblem is not. To each their own.

The blue 87 Brougham seems correct. The NP5 sport steering wheel was a Brougham separate option, so the steering wheel could be correct. The trunk was open, you can look for NP5 right on the SPID.

The first 84 H/O you came to there was a question of original paint. You started catching on when you got the next one. That's hard to determine on the video, but that orange peel stuff on the rear quarter isn't sloppy paint job but the lower body "rock guard" that the factory supplied. Correct repaints also have the rock guard redone if the owner really wanted the original look. Also, your vacuum tank probably looks like a half of an old style oil can over by the blower setup. That's probably because your car doesn't have cruise control from the factory.

Last but not least...here's how you work the Lightning Rods.... :)
