I'm gonna have to make a jig up and see how high I can go without hitting the hood. Also....went to Menards to get bolts....m*th*r f*ck*rs dont have the bolt size i need. Fastenol is closed...and according to the website, don't think they carry them. Might even have to order them.....8mm x 90mm 1.0 pitch.

Look into a spacer set up like this one from Mr Gasket. I've been using the Qjet version for years.
So......i took the carb off the car to make sure of what I have......dual plane performer rpm intake. So now I'm assuming to go with a 4 hole? Sorry for being an idiot and not knowing what was on the car. Sometimes i read/research so much sh*t, I forget what I have.

I still say open. We knew it was dual plane, it allows side to side sharing. Do you still have the 600 cfm carb?

Thanks for not calling me an idiot even tho I was! Right now i do still have the 600. The torque starter took priority over a bigger carb. Been keeping my eyes out for a decent used one. Gf got a little mad over a $50 fan purchase. So I have to wait a bit before I can spend a chunk

I would use a 7 bladed clutch fan.And a aluminum carb heat shield as well.
Problem is finding the severe duty clutch, don't think there is one for the G body application and a 7 blade fan, think you have basically find a used fan. That 4 blade moves a lot of air. The Phonelic spacer in theory should help more than an aluminum spacer. The AFB/AVS/Edelbrock have boiling issues back from the 60's when they were original equipment. That is no doubt why it's replacement the Thermoquad had the Phonelic Bakelite body.

Got the fan on. Bolts were too long. Got the 75mm and those were too long. There wasn't any in between size so I had to throw some washers on. Equal amount on all bolts. Started the car up and damn. That fan does push alot of air. Will test it when it gets hotter today. Did some R&D on the carb. 1" spacer will make the air cleaner hit the hood. Air cleaner i believe is 3" tall from bottom to the fastener.
