Went on a motorcycle ride with the wife to get her a full-face helmet. She ended up convincing me to test drive a 2006 Suzuki V-Strom 650 that I had been looking at for the last month or so. They gave me a decent deal, so I got it. The engine is actually smaller than my Honda Shadow, but it has plenty of power for 2 up riding and the NVH is miles better. View attachment 141710

Her Uncle sent a 24v conversion kit for their Corvette at Christmas. Unfortunately I failed to order a few critical parts (batteries and holders) over the holidays. So we turned our attention to arts and crafts and sticker bombed it instead.

She's going to need a go kart next year for certain. The speed bug that bit her and the growth spurt demands it.

So my usual tire guy is closed so I found the nearest place open to have my tires mounted small shop outside of town it’s a one-man show
He asked me what am I using the tires for and from there we got to talking and I noticed a small water pump pulley underneath his parts washer I asked if he would be interested in selling it he told me I can have it next thing I know he’s loading me up with all kinds of free parts
1.6 rollers look like summit brand
3/8 ARP studs
4800 Competition cams guide plates
They need a little cleaning but free is the best price

No, but hers is. We were discussing what to do with my shadow, and she says "Why don't you let me have it, since I am looking for a bike anyways." Okay, that would actually work out nicely. Lets see if you can ride it. So I had her hop on it in the parking lot and gave her the basics of putting around in it. I turned her loose and she made it about 25 feet before laying it over. Her arm and knee got a little skinned up but no other harm was done.

It was then decided that that bike was a little heavier than she wanted, and we are now looking at a 250 Honda Rebel. I personally think she would be happier on a higher end scooter like a Suzuki Burgman, but the choice is ultimately hers.

Make sure those case cover bolts that go around the top are all tight. That's what kills those Kohler Courages. Among other things.
Might as well set your valve lash too, the compression releases are touchy on those.
