Covered lessons on levers, screws and material hardness/durometer, and why leverage is our friend.

It was in that moment that Tatiana realized just how much of an @$$hole her father really was when he made her run a wood screw into a piece of aluminum plate with a screwdriver...

...but changed her mind (slightly) when he showed her there was a better way.

Today works in the garage with dad...

Tomorrow she'll be working in a garage with her boyfriend. Time sure does fly

Fair enough...

With the state of "boys" these days, a term I use loosely since I guess it's popular to decide for oneself what you call oneself, it's more likely he'll ask for help with his ballet moves than in the garage?

Preferable?

Hack job hvac at your service!

It's official I have fan fed heat in the garage!

Tied a tow rope to the Rainier in the driveway and threw it over the roof of the garage so I could climb the snowy roof safer. Pulled out an existing vent and ran the vent pipe through the hole. Did some pipe routing in the garage attic and fired the heater up with success!

New battery cables measured from the old ones, still somehow too short and too long (positive and ground respectively) and a battery and the t bird passed the fire test. And it cranks. Cranks good.

Have a mild pushrod dilemma, mine measure 8.642, and are worn. Internet says it should have 8.55s. This is a comparison.

Alternate measurement for an older model 429 is 8.67. Which is what I also ordered from summit, along with a pushrod length checker.

So this weekend we'll see if this b*tch'll light off.
Nevermind the snow storms.

Decided to put the rotors on my mom's car I meant to last week. Seeing how the digits on my left hand function again and fit under a glove, and it wasn't freezing *ss and snowing, I took a shot. Being a UP car, I expected a bit of a fight. It started with me wrestling the wheels off with my trusty 10# sledge. Next I had to jump right to the I wasn't asking bar to crack the caliper mount bolts loose. The rotor wasn't budging. You know what they say, if brute force isn't working, you're not using enough. Man, this rotor is exceptionally stubborn!

Doh!

I hit this guy on the back side with some PB blaster and he came right out. As did the rotor. Next, I unboxed the fresh AC Delco rotors.

Looks like I'm only doing the one side today. Got a replacement on the way from Amazon, but they usually slowboat replacement stuff. I need to clean out the center bores on the wheels better too so they slide over the hubs the way they're supposed to.
