At least you DRIVE yours like it they meant it to!

No garage queen!
Drive it like you stole it. There's always an old guy rubbing one with a diaper you can buy 10 years from now if the mood for a minty fresh one strikes you.

That was going to be my question, is it better or worse than if you drive it like you stole it?

Well I did start stripping parts off of it when I got home... sooo... maybe I did drive it like I stole it?

Builds race cars. Just watch the whole 55 build, you're going to understand. John and I met and parked with him at DW 2016 - very nice dude. Talent for days... not a CNC machine in sight.

Ah, yeah I am on the same page now.

I remember this video floated around a few years ago (non edited) and stumbled on it again.

If anyone asks me to make another one of these I am going to laugh in their face.

One of the speed bumps I hit at the outset of this was my Hazard Fraught/Powder Fist pipe expander had been dead in the drawer for years and I didn't remember why/how it was broken. It had pulled the threads out of the nut.

Needless to say, the absence of a slip fitting anywhere in this system has added a lot of time to the build, since the fit-up needs to be very precise.

Looking at getting one of these for the next exhaust system I build:

Cheaper:

The funny (and painful) thing about this car is how well you can see the exhaust pipes past the differential. So getting everything as symmetrical as possible (noting it won't be perfect because of the body/chassis limitations) is extra tedious.

Here is one side "done", and the other side is now 90% complete too. I wish I had added v-bands behind the mufflers as it would have been a (fabrication) bonus for such a minimal weight penalty. But, the tape should hold. There are 22.5°, 45°, and 90° bends in there. Maths.

The pipes do look a lot beefier than OEM. Time to put all of my good looking welds to the inside, and the ugly ones facing out.

Turns out I did order a second set of aluminum v-bands... they never arrived. Amazon will be sending replacements.

So I wasn't crazy.

Are you saying that one thing was where the threshold for meeting the identification requirements fell short?
