A friend is wanting to buy these but he’s confused, so am I, as to if he can use these instead of the stock calipers or if he would need to upgraded to the blazer setup, could he use them?
hello people: speaking of replacement calipers? Does anyone sell them made pretty? Meaning powder coated or just cleaned up?Also, in my opinion, keep the stock calipers and upgrade to aftermarket brake pads. This is the best bang for the buck.
You can also go with the Wilwood oversized 2.75" diameter piston caliper.
These are 4.3lb each and have the best piston area of any bolt in caliper. Part number is 120-8924. On the Wilwood website, the run around $100 each.
That being said, from personal experience, I would still not put a lot of money in the stock brake setup other than a new pads and hoses from the auto parts store. If the calipers are in good working order, I would keep them. If not, I would just get replacement calipers from the auto parts store.
Flush your fluid, roughly, every 5 to 7 years.
