What did you do to your G-Body today 2024

Somehow, it went back in easier than it came out.

Still have a few things to throw back on it like the starter, but I should have it done by Wednesday. That’s including spot repair on the driver’s door, and potentially a small spot on the passenger fender. Time will tell on the latter though.
And the Kevko pan has quite a bit more clearance than I expected, looks to be a bit more than the stock type I had in here before:

(Even taking the shaky cam into consideration!)

When my th350 was out, I replaced the front pump gasket and o ring, as well as the little washers on the pump bolts, but I think she might be done for. Randomly slips, drops from 3rd to second without warning, but I can get 3rd back if I let off shift to 2nd and back to third. Fluid is full, isn't burnt. Praying the modulator randomly went bad, but I don't know. Money is real tight right now and I don't have 800-1200 to pull out of my *ss for a rebuild, nor do o have a couple hundred these jackasses want for a core th350 nowadays. I have a 200r4 I'd like to put in, but I need a converter AND crossmember to make that happen. :(
It drove to work, I hope it will make it home.

How many miles are on the th350, and is it modified already?

Sometimes it's possible to milk quite a few more miles out of them by adding a shift kit to boost pressure & bypass some unnecessary nonsense in addition to changing the separator plate which may be leaking due to wear.

It had 80k on it according to the tag. That was 45,000 miles ago. I've got a shift kit in it already.

The one in the wagon did the same random drop to second and same on getting it back to 3rd. Never did figure it out a buddy thought maybe a bad seal somewhere. wound up selling it as a core

Sorry, I know that was no help

I'm willing to bet you already know this but the spline count on your existing converter's the same as the 200r4.there's gotta be a cheap crossmember out there somewhere if you can't make one up.🤞

The 200r4 is a lockup trans, I'd like to retain that feature.

I understand that but was thinking if the th350 goes away you could use it if you found yourself in jam to get back on the road

Yeah. 200r4 is a basic unit but last guy said was a runner so that's a choice.
