CHEVY New life to an old square body farm truck

Realized I haven't updated here in a while.... some of this may be repetitive, not sure....

So, I picked up a set of 4 NOS beauty rings for the wheels.

I've got a second set of four rally wheels that are on a frame carcass.

I got an original scale-rust free core support that has had the original paint wear off in many areas, and a spare set of front wheel wells in similar shape.

I'd like to have the core support powder coated, as well as the rims and wheelwells.

The piece de resistance so to speak comes from our December 30th finds:

1) Got a pair of NOS gm fenders, made in 1993. Better steel than earliest versions, but still have good body lines from the dies not being totally worn out. Made here, not overseas per the stickers. Not a singe ding,, pind, dent, or scratch into the edp coating either...

Those used fenders I talked about and tried rust eradicating between the seams are spares to throw together a winter 4x4 now, or maybe make a DD out of the '79.

2) Got a NOS gm dashpad, correct 73-78 non-vin cutout version in the correct original interior color, medium blue.

Mean to get pics of the nos goodies, just havent gotten to it between new years eve and day.

Kinda evokes the Honda Clarity.

Parts is parts, junk is junk. Unpacked the goodies from the back of the yukon finally. I was *slightly* off on my recollection of manufcture dates, fenders stamped early 1990s, and went to Alabama in the early 2000s.

Dash pad was made in '84.

This makes me more likely not to put that green interior in this truck and build another instead.

Right now I've got used lightly surface non-scale rusted fenders, used doors, a used bed, and the green interior. That's enough to do a whole driver quality vehicle aside from cab and wheelwells.... frames and suspensions I've got. 12 bolts, 14 bolts, 350s, a 4l80e 2wd... yep... may need to keep an eye open and throw together a driver the way prices are.

awesome! Squarebodies are hard to come by not all rotted out here in PA. I have a 82 K30 cab and chassis I plan on a dirtymax swap. It has the Dana 60 front, I think a 14b bolt rear. I have the Angry Eye Chevy with the LB7 and Allison 1000 on hand. I need to find a body donor for the sheetmetal, the cab is in sad shape.

So, got a new battery and a new tire today, battery has been weak and the tire took damage today while pulling down what was left of the steel shed roof out of the trees - some bits of bracing and screwdriver and stuff are all mixed in the grass. At some point I'll probably give some of those giant magnetized rollers a try to comb the yard for small metal debris....

But for now, she's still hard at work 48+ years after being built!
