First thing I see is the spring loaded mechanism on the TV cable is oriented up and possibly interfering with your throttle cable. Looks like you could back out the TV and clock it so it faces off to the side rather than up. Secondly, the TV cable needs to pull straight and level from the bracket to the carb link. It can be done with your existing bracket and some 1/8” steel bar. Cut the bracket and move it where you want it and use the metal to fill in the gaps and weld it solid. I am going to be doing that job because the bracket I bought years ago is of no use as it’s set the way yours is. There are fully adjustable brackets available but I haven’t found anything I want to pony up the money for as they look cheap and tinny to me. I’m going to modify mine and make it work.

Is that the original OEM throttle/transmission bracket and 2004R TV cable?

if so, that cable needs readjusting or possibly replaced due too much slack/stretch, that crimped on block at the end of the cable should be resting against the plastic clip, soon as you hit the gas, theres no pressure to the transmission, burnt up clutches you will end up with.

Same transmission shown(video) as yours, but the same applies to the 700R4 as well, what he doesnt show is how to adjust the cable. Push the "D" shaped button on the cable and hold it in to release the center plunger and push it in all the way back towards the firewall till it stops, then release the button. Now go WOT on the carburetor throttle by hand or by foot and the center plunger should ratchet itself out setting itself, if it doesnt work correctly, you may have too much stretch on the cable and needs replacing. but honestly, i'd rather drop the pan off to verify unless you know EXACLTY what you are doing going by feel alone, if not, very important to get a friend to help.

I did the same with my 700R4, but i had bought holley's 700r4 geometry throttle brackets because im using a holley carburetor, so the OEM throttle brackets will not work correctly for it was made to use on a Rochester 4bbl/TH350 combo, i also used a brand new OEM GM TV cable, not aftermarket, although they do work as intended, along with a remote camera to see what i was doing in real time because i was working alone, 3yrs later with the same transmission, and it still going strong.

Can you explain me about that please i dont understand mechanic and im french canadian "The first thing I see is that the TV cable spring mechanism is pointing up and may interfere with your throttle cable. It looks like you can remove the TV and adjust it so it is pointing to the side instead of up."
