I had a 1986 with the Z15 option package and the F41. Had the thinnest diameter GM bar in the rear (1/2 - 5/8 depending where it was measured from) Was a Mexico plant build and I was the 3rd owner. Still looked to be a full GM install.

Jack, I had a 85mph speedometer converted to a 115mph for my 86 El Camino many years back. As well they repaired the needle bounce in a 1980 9C1 police speedometer I have in my 79 Monte Carlo. They are located outside Syracuse NY but I'm not sure they still service the older units anymore...

Welcome! I had the exact same 86 El Camino years back. If you find the SPID it should have a Z15 code which was the non Choo Choo SS package. Ended up doing a color change and 355 small block swap. Looking forward to the updates.
