so for the past 3 months I’ve really been looking forward to doing an autocross event with my regal. It seemed like a fun event. Even if the regal won’t be all that competitive. There’s an event coming up this Sunday I planned to attend.
So I pull out the car from the garage after work today...
pulling apart the climate control box to change out the heater core and had to remove this thing. It had a couple vacuum lines running to it.
I’ve swapped in a sbc 350 in place of the 3.8 so I don’t if it’s emissions related or for the climate control.
just got my Buick back yesterday from the shop after a month. So I spent a good chunk of the day driving it around and enjoying it for a few more days before I pack it up for winter. Here’s a few pics. The New wheels I think really tie the car together.
Feel free to post up your own pics, of...
its nearing the time to put some proper rubber on my regal. Prices online are pretty good but I'm not sure when it comes to installation cost that it is going to be worth it in the end. Thoughts?
i need to replace my speedometer cable that broke during my swap. What kind do I need? The speedometer is the horizontal type. Transmission was a th200, now it's a th350.
so generally when I hit about 50 mph my windows keep blowing outward. I've tried adjusting the glass on the drivers side too see if it would fix it but to no avail.
The sweeps are typical 30 year old dry rotted and the weather stripping is in better shape and still soft but ripped in the corners.
random thought.... has anyone ever finished the bed of an el Camino like the old school bronco's used to have?
I just think it would be a pretty cool concept or build to have done with a removable bed cover.
If not guys. I promise If I ever become a millionaire. I'll do this one day.
i have the 3.8 and th200 and crossmember that I pulled for my sbc swap. Engine ran good when pulled with 108k, transmission worked but didn't like to shift into reverse.
Now that I got the car back on the street it's time to make some room in the garage.
In short are the engine and trans worth...
so I'm in mid engine swap. Actually quite close to being complete. Mainly wiring now. Anyways, instead of making a new thread on every topic I may need help on. I figured that I'd make a consolidated thread instead.
First order of business is where I'm mounting my gauges since this car only...
So being an idiot I tried using the th200 TV cable in place of a proper th350 kick down cable. Well i snapped the top turn of the pin that's attached to the transmission. Now there is still enough to operate currently but if I need to replace it I better do it now, before I add fluid.
In short...
What the hell kind of bolts/nuts do I need for this setup? Neither the flexplate nor the TC is threaded and the bolts from oriellys are even too big to slide through.
Engine is a Chevy performance 330hp crate engine
TC is an unknown high stall.
I'll update with pictures in a bit
So i got my new fuel line from classictube for my v6 to sbc swap. The fuel line is proving to be a real PITA. Getting stuck on the body, frame, or spring support, where it goes over the axle. Now ive read that it is possible to fit this in with the body on but im having no such luck. Im afraid...
So i bought a chevy performance 350 HO crate engine turn key from Jegs.
Here. Problem is its a little lacking as far as instructions go for the serpentine kit. ive scoured online for detailed pictures, ive contacted GM, and Jegs, and cant get a straight answer.
Fortunately using what pictures i...
So the 200 in my regal is acting up, and as i plan on doing a complete sbc350 engine swap, i see no point in having it fixed. So im thinking that i should just get a th350 put in its place. (just one less thing to do down the road).
What should i expect mounting a th350 to a 3.8?
Im aware of...
There is a vibration that im getting in the rear end when braking. Only seems to do it when at speed and braking hard. Any ideas on what could cause this?
Bought a 87 buick regal today. Filling the void that ive had since selling my 84. Nothing special about it. Base everything. But it came with out the vinyl top. Big plus.
So now that im back in it. I gotta dive through this thing as quickly as possible to get it to pass safety inspection and...
Its been a long time since being on the forum. In short i had to sell my 84 regal, because i had no place to put it while i was stationed over seas. Sold it to a buddy who wrecked his cobalt for 1k. He killed the 3.8 and sold it at profit to a drag racer.
Anyways, ive been saving my pennies...
Hi guys its been a while since ive lurked around here, shipped off to army basic in 09 and stationed in Germany afterwards so haven't had much time to drive the ole' 84 around much. After deploying to Afghanistan i got some money and bought a new Toyota corolla. Its a decent car but i find, it...
I recently enlisted in the U.S. Army and will be shipping out here in the next couple of weeks. 3 years as a combat engineer. I wont be to far from home as all my training is done at Ft. Leonard Wood. I also will be keeping my Regal, and maybe now i will have some money to actually put into it...
