My first G-body car was my 87 Aerocoupe, my uncle gave it to me after it sat for about a year and I haunted him for it, car was pretty beat up body wise had dents on almost every panel, I replaced what I could at 16 yrs old, had an exhaust shop make me front pipes used some 40 series mufflers...

These Dynomax look very similar to those, not a welded case muffler just a regular muffler. It is louder at an idle than it is driving about 30-40 mph almost no drone even with no tailpipes.

Put the mufflers on yesterday, still no tailpipes but atleast it's quiet enough to drive now.. I am very happy with the sound of the Dynomax mufflers, kind of quiet but still a deep rumble, I am thinking its going to sound really good with tailpipes, I love the "cammy" sound!!

Thank you!!! Moron??? Not that I am a moron and couldn't find an SS or cheaped out, just that this car is clean and has alot of what I would want in an SS car to begin with, but seeing how all the SS cars I have looked at or saw on CL are rotted bad or if not people think they are somehow worth...

Tell me this car doesn't look badass?? Looks like it might have been an LS or standard car too check out the mirrors?? This is the look I'm ultimately going for.

I don't get why you guys are so against SS look a likes??? They aren't really that much different aside from the lack of chrome and a different header panel/nose cone. Not like I have an original 81 car with 20k on it, its already all cut up has an 87/88 grey dash and Buick GN seats and console...

I had a chance to get these pieces for near nothing, I forgot I let my friend borrow an engine stand I had and he offered to trade the stand for these parts. I had to grab them even if I don't swap it all over still a good deal I think.

I was planning on making it an SS clone so I wanted tailpipes out under the rear bumper, if I decide to leave it a standard Monte I think tailpipes out behind each rear tire? Like a GN.

Ha Thanks, its gonna be this way for a bit longer anyway never know might grow on me?

I thought about just swapping the nose and leaving the chrome for now if I hate it I can always take it off and have the body work done to get rid of the tabs. I don't care if it won't be a real SS I just want that look.

Just ordered a set of Dynomax 2.5" offset offset mufflers, decided i want it on the quiet side. It will probably still be pretty loud?? Can I buy a set of SS tailpipes in 2.5" pre made?
