82 Old Nutless to not so Nutless

Haha this is a funny thread. All this broken, rusty, unhooked, leaky, smokey and cutty stuff sucks while we're doing it, but once you get it fired up and drive it on it's own power.....it was all worth it.

Self service auto yards near Richmond, VA

Hey guys I'm looking at relocating to the Richmond, VA area. Does anyone know where/how many self service yards in the area? I know there are quite a few racetracks so I hope there are some good yards around here. I'm going to miss Nashville as they are all over the place here.

    Why? Why? Why?

Well the guy never called me back about coming to see the truck this weekend. I guess he was planning on modding the throttle body and swirl port heads to make it into a wheelstanding pavement melting beast of an extended cab long bed chevy truck. Funny thing is I could probably...

    Why? Why? Why?

I like that kanooter valve thing, maybe I'll try that next! Yeah, he's supposed to call this weekend if he's coming up from Alabama to look at it. I even try to explain to most people that you need about 500hp before you start worrying about whether you're 2 or 4 bolt mains. Then they just...

    Why? Why? Why?

Why do people think you NEED to have a 4 bolt main engine? I have a truck for sale and the guy called asking about the engine in it, I rebuilt it myself and gave him all the specs. After listening to me rattle off everything that went into the motor, gaskets, cam, lifters, oil pan etc....he...

Can anybody post a pic of their high speed fan switch?

Need some help figuring out where the high speed fan switch goes for my 86 Monte Carlo. I have tried two fans and new relay on the heater box and it won't come on. The fuse for heat is good and the fan works if I connect it to the battery. Can't figure out why the fan won't turn on when I...

    Th350 to 700r4

Shift linkage will bolt right up, may have to swap the arm from the 350 to the 700r4. I dought that will be neccessary but possible. Do you know what year that trans is, some of the later 700r4 could have more splines. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

    Th350 to 700r4

Which carb do you have, Quadrajet? If Holley, you have to probably have a TV cable adapter. Depending on the cable you use, the bracket may or may not be too far back.

    5.3 install into a Cutlass

Oh yeah he had to get a diff flex plate and bushing for the end of the crank as the bushing stuck out too far for the torque converter. The transmission bolted to the motor just fine otherwise and he replaced the factory crossmember a Gforce dual exhaust crossmember. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

    5.3 install into a Cutlass

He bought the engine and harness from an 01 1500. The guy was moving out of state and had given up on his buggy project so he sold it. We threw in a Comp big mother thumper Chevy High performance used in one of there 400 horsepower builds. All i can say is DAMN LS cams are expemsive! The...

    1987 Monte Carlo gas tank

You could use an aftermarket tank as long as you keep the original 3 line sender from the TBI tank. Another problem you'll have is there is no "fuel bucket" to keep the TBI pump submerged in. A lot of guys recommend keeping it 1/4 tank full, I tried it and it worked but I had all sorts of...

    5.3 install into a Cutlass

My buddy bought this Cutlass with a v6 and we're working on getting it running now that we've dropped a 5.3 from an Avalanch in it. Hooked up the computer, sprayed some starter fluid down the throttle body and it started on the first crank. Video is of the 3rd and 4 starts, we still have to...

    Autometer gauges

Nice, so did the gauges run into the circuit board behind the speedo or tach? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

    Autometer gauges

Pretty creative there, what size are those gauges? I thought about doing that to my Monte this weekend when I installed a tach, decided against it and mounted to the steering column.
