I bought an NOS wire hub caps years ago at a swap meet and it had this black center cap. I'm only familiar with the ones with the silver background. Would this be for the 78-80 MC?

Like Melman said, those are for the heater. You will have no use for them, you can buy some stainless plugs for the intake and water pump through Summit or Jegs.
