Pulled my trans to fix a front pump seal, having trouble figuring out what the trans is from. It is a TH350.
Number stamped on driver side, just above the pan: 36M292819
Top of bell housing, between top two mounting bolt holes, large raised numbers in casting C 11
Drivers side, side of bell...
How much of a pain is it to replace the front seals on the a TH350 Transmission? Dropping it shouldn't be a problem, I just wonder what can of worms I'd be getting into. From the diagrams I have it looks like there is a seal behind the torque converter in the center of the pump housing, and a...
How do replace a rear main seal? Mine started leaking pretty bad this weekend out of the blue. Wondering if I have to pull the engine or drop the transmission to do it? The motor is '78 350 in a '83 Cutlass Supreme.
I was able to figure out that is a TH 350. It has a vacuum line running to it, plus the 13 bolt pans. It doesn't appear that the cable does anything at this point. The cable isn't broken, it just doesn't shift down at all.. Does this mean I have internal problems?
There isn't any wires running to it, just the vac. line, speedo and kick down, so that leads me to think its just the TH 350. Its all original, even the U-joints are still factory. Crazy, I know, they are going to be on the list of ASAP upgrades along with fluid and filter. The modulator should...
Pretty sure I have Th350 trans. It has a square pan with one corner at an angle with 13 bolts. The 200 only has 11 bolts. The engine has been in for over 20 years and was a daily driver for many years. This trans has a vacuum line running to it also, I don't think the 200 does, is that correct...
The cable is still attached to the transmission, but it doesn't do anything anymore. I'm wondering what it may have broke or ruined in the transmission having it move all the time with the throttle cable. From what I understand, the kickdown isn't supposed to engage until you push the pedal to a...
I have been trying to figure that out....the only number I can find looks more like a vin# of some sort. It was right above the pan on the drivers side: 36M292819. It was a 5.7 diesel, the previous owner says the transmission stayed, just swapped in a '78 Delta 88 350 back in 1991.
Doing a little more digging, the guy who did the diesel to gas conversion for some reason welded a washer to the kickdown cable slide by the carb, then bolted it solid to the throttle. So as soon as you touch the gas, the cable would slide start to slide out. This has been like this for years...
I have an '83 Cutlass Supreme that had a 5.7 diesel, It now has a '78 Delta 88 350 motor. Motor is pretty much stock, other than an alum. intake and a Holley 650 carb. The guy I bought the car from said as far as he remembers that the transmission and rear end have never been touched. The car...
Hi everyone. Just bought a '83 Cutlass Supreme Brougham with T-Tops that my brother had in storage for 5 years, took lots of prodding, but he finally gave it up for $3000. It was a diesel car from the factory, now it has a '78 Delta 88 350. It needs some TLC after sitting awhile but I think...
Thanks for the link, there is a ton of info on on it. Can you narrow it down to the wiring diagram? I can't seem to find the one your talking about. Thanks!
I have a '83 Supreme Brougham, was a diesel car, now it has a '78 Delta 88 350 motor. I found a Hurst speedo-tach-gauges set and am wondering what it would take to put this in my car? The gauge set has a spot for the speedo, a wiring harness plug coming out of the back. I also noticed it doesn't...
