Same thing happened to me 2-19-1985 at 5:37AM, I was driving a 1977 Toyota Hilux truck. He hit me headlight to headlight both drivers side. They got away with minor injuries. I had 19 broken bones including my femur pushed though my pelvis. Both legs both arms ect. You never know when it may be...
Well it's done. It would seem that swapping a four to a six that was available in the YJ would be relatively easy. NOT!!!. Its in and running great with twice the HP. The little red YJ is peppy now. The craziest thing was the wiring. I purchased a same year six cylinder harness and computer but...
I did 2005 Grand Prix GTP seats in mine, front and rear. The fronts had to be adapted to my 86 electric tracks and I used the 2006 seat switch. It matches the 86 color codes wire for wire. I also used the rear seats. I put the rear lower cover from the 06 on my 86 seat frame and used the 06...
Great timing guys. I am working on a Jeep project and had a 1998 Cherokee donor in my yard for parts. The day I was going to haul it away for scrap I read this post and pull the steering gear so I can install it in my GP later.
Don't expect to find much in aftermarket support for the Grand Prix. Unless it happens to also fit the cutlass or Monte Carlo. We are the red headed step children of the G Body community. :blam:
Re: Budget Cutlass Build-Bad, Bad Day.
There is a 1988 Cutlass that just came in to Bevels Pull it in Goldsboro. I have not seen it but their prices are usually great.

Well I lucked out today and found an AX15 five speed with a Hurst shifter and a 231 transfer case for $240.00 total. It looks like I am ready to start the swap.
The ZJ donor I bought would have made a great trail rig. It had been slow rolled after pulling off of the road in a downpour and just bent the roof and a few panels. What are a few dents on a trail rig? Right at 100,000 miles and $400.00 with four new tires on it. I'm trying to decide now on...
I was doing some light reading on the Jeep forum and a guy asked how to get more power out of a 2.5. He was told to swap it out for a 5HP Briggs & Stratton. Ouch!
I love my Jeep but that 2.5 has gotta go. It must have around 90HP now. 65MPH is all you get. The rpms don't max out just the HP. Its not the best riding thing I ever got in but it is fun to drive, especially out on the beach at Nags Head or Hatteras. The Cherokee that my engine is coming out of...
My grand prix is good to go for now. I did pick up a new 2008 GP console that I plan to install shortly but I have another big project to work on for now. I also have a 1993 Jeep Wrangler that came with the 2.5 squirrel engine and a five speed. I have painted it, added a 4" lift new tires and...
thanks. I was just trying t use more of the truck before I scrapped it out. I still plan on installing the 4.3, 4L60 and transfer case into my 2.5 Wrangler. That will almost double the HP.
