Do Grand Nationals get too much credit for the greatness of the G-Body?

I’m a current cutlass owner. The first car I ever modified and hopped up was a cutlass I bought in high school. But there is just a little more appeal to a grand national, and actually all these years later if I dare say a regal has the better body lines. Just my opinion. But my parents went to...

What did you do to your G-Body today? [2011-2018]

Cleaned and painted motor parts today, and could not resist mocking it up.

You can see the taller upper ball joint in this pic

    Front suspension????

I’ve just got done doing some of that to the front of mine. I used all blazer parts for now. And as far as the ball joints the taller ones are supposed to help some of the bad geometry from the factory. Haven’t got mine together enough to drive it yet. So don’t have experience on how well it...

Congratulations. Staying together over that many years through ups and downs is truly something to admire and be proud of.

    Good cause carshow

To anyone close to the tristate area. (Indiana/Ohio/Kentucky) this is a carshow put on by a kid in memory of his grandfather. I think he was still in high school when he done the first show last year. There was a really nice turnout last year. Just thought I’d throw it out there for anyone close.

    Oops, I think I goofed!

Thank you for your response. Without getting into personal business I had to sell my good motor out of it last year. I’m going to drive it this summer come hell or high water. I didn’t order any of these parts. It’s just what’s been collected over the years. I knew the heads were going to choke...

    Oops, I think I goofed!

Thanks for the info. That sounds like a plan. I sold the 383 out of the car I had pretty good money in. (Life happens) this motor is an accumulation of parts that I have collected thru work, helping people that didn’t have money to spend so I’m just making due with what I have this round. Again...

The only modification to the head right now is the machinists I bought them from done some work in the combustion chamber to unshroud the exh. valve

    Oops, I think I goofed!

My goal is just fun in the street. It’s a lot of parts piced together because of a very limited budget. The motor is a 406, with about 10.5 to 1, roller cam 236/242 @50 110 lob sep 106 icl 520 540 lift, it’s going in an 86 cutlass muncie m20 with 355 posi

I was told they run thes heads in dirt track racing. There supposed to look like factory heads

    Oops, I think I goofed!

I definitely don’t mind the work. I just didn’t want to junk a set of heads. The reason why I wrote the post was to find some direction. I appreciate all response. I kinda knew bigger wasn’t better (volume vs velocity) I just shld of checked both sides before I started. I figured a little...

    Oops, I think I goofed!

If the only time port work needs to b done is after a mistake then it would never be done to begin with.

    Oops, I think I goofed!

I liked the first idea too. Lol. I kinda figured I’d b buying an intake. Lesson learned. $$$
