My arms and back are sore today and I only got 3/4 of the car done. Trying to get this done and out, lack only finishing the buff and wax, detail interior, and fix the wheel situation. Unfortunately someone, in between care of this from my original time, decided to install a new rear axle along...
That is no kidding.
These are 30x10x14 new take off tires from Fakebook ($580) that should have been around $670 new The 14x7 ITP Hurricane wheels are from Amazon($550). Shopped pretty hard for deals, found one wheel at $50 off. The amount of aftermarket support available for SXS's is insane...
Not today, but mid last week the eternal "swap a SBC into a 1950 Mercury" project left my driveway to go in for exhaust. It will be back for tuning/troubleshooting after it's fixed from 'don't want to piss off my neighbors with open headers' status.
Spent a while in the garage this morning to get intercooler piping, blow off, and wastegate mocked up for finality.
One piece to get cut in and its should be ready for welding
Looks like downpipe should be good to start on too
And new lugs came in
Built a couple watches based off a Timex built in late 60's/early 70's my brother had when we were young. This was a small quartz, boy size watch at 31mm, plastic case and rubber bracelet.
This is the original:
I commissioned 4 dials to be built (my brother, 2 other buddies, and I) and...
That setup is a return style, will keep fuel cooler and fuel pressure more accurate as it is not dead heading, i.e. the return prevents that. Early LS from Chevrolet had a filter/regulator that returned fuel at the filter where as the one you linked will require a line from regulator all the way...
Been absent from the forum, sorry. Bought this the end of October to replace the lease Jeep.
Put it to use not long after season opening
Now I need to liquidate the Jeep and 4-wheeler to clear my dad's driveway. LOL Well, the Porsche is there too, soooooo
Embarrassed to say that zero work has been done to the Malibu. Other stupid purchases and the sale of another distraction this year but no movement on the Malibu. scoti I need to get with you on the stock spindles if you still have them, will text ya.
Sold the GMC dually last weekend. One more project that I don't have time for is gone. Only four more vehicles to sell to be less distracted. At least vehicle-wise.
Don't know if I have the measurements anymore but I used wood to build a cart then built a tip-tissorie with much of the same wood working on my Malibu floors and some heavy angle iron pieces to mount to front and second set to rear body mounts. Some of the links in my thread to pics are bad but...
Slim chance but do you have a clamp on meter you can watch the amp draw when the relay pulls in? The inrush when a motor starts should be the highest amperage you see but settles down and depending on the motor draw can be up to 3 times the running amperage.
I can say I have owned two of these Spirit of America Nova’s. My dad had one that he daily drove that I bought off him and then I bought another that had no title but was a clean car with a great factory interior that supplemented mu more worn out interior. Biggest thing was the one piece molded...
That could be a definite problem. A lot of the aftermarket relays have faulty crimps that can cause a major amp draw, loose wires and crimps are bad. Have dealt with a few MCC’s in my business lately that we are paying $200K plus for that have improperly torqued set screws that cause the same...
