Cut 1/4 off 5660 coil springs... And ruined them.

I cut the correct end. Any white on the bottom end was the white out paint I used to mark where I wanted to cut some drip onto the lower coil. The paint mark from the factory indicating the top is still there

Cut 1/4 off 5660 coil springs... And ruined them.

I'm fine with it now that I know there not compromised. By the way you seem to have knowledge on these 5660's. How come no one knows for sure how much of a drop cutting these will give? I heard cutting a whole coil off this spring is anywhere from 1 inch to like 4 inches Already painted them...

Anyhow went to cut a 1/4 coil off some 5660 Moog springs. First time ever attempting to cut coils and screwed it up. Probably should have used a 3 1/2 cut off wheel instead of the 3 inch my grinder was made for. Anyhow leaned the cut off disc onto the lower rung of the spring and managed to...

    Moog 5660

Do you have taller lower ball joints ? A BBC is pretty heavy but I take the hood is lightweight fiberglass. I may go with the 5658 than cutting a quarter coil from the 5660 if i can get a 1 inch drop in my GP with a Pontiac 400.

Rust converters, what is the best one?

The easiest and most effectively minimal way to protect the frame. Is to use a wire wheel to get the excess rust scale off. Wipe it down with a vinegar water solution and apply the rust converter. Then finally undercoat the entire bottom with something like Amsoil HD metal protector spray (or...

I'm completely lost. Are drop spindles and tall spindles two different terms? When everyone says they use 2"drop spindles from a blazer is this the exact opposite kind of spindle than a tall one?
