    Light blue interior dye

The color offered is not exact for the powder blue offered in the A body cars. If you want exact, you will have to have it made. I have a powder blue interior and the interior paint offered is a different shade.

2nd gen F body gas tanks

My Camaro is in the shop, regrettably. I suggest you go to nastyz28.com. There are plenty of members there that have a Firebird/Trans Am. I checked the after market sites such as Classic Industries and they do not provide details regarding measurements. Interesting that the gas tanks are...

Blue Ridge Parkway/Skyline Drive road trip

That is awesome. I bought a place off the Skyline drive and end of the parkway in Western NC to get away from all the crazyness. The reason why everything is green is there are some areas that get plenty of rain second only to Washington State: Nantahala National Forest That lies adjacent...

    Vinyl top

That looks white to me. Check out this following link. The image is small but you may be able to enlarge it. If the car is green, likely it is white. http://www.gt-37.org/gallery/picture.php?/1701/category/58

Stock 305, thoughts on 3” tubing?

IMHO, 3" is overkill. I have 2.5 with no cat on my 78 Camaro with a 2BBL 305. Majority of the Camaro's of the members I know typically run 2.5" on the 350's and 305's.

Looking for an uncoded trunk lock, where can I buy one?

The trunk lock cylinder is different. There is a slot in the cylinder that a small rod fits which then fits into the slot of the latch. I pulled the small rod out so I can get a flat blade screwdriver in the latch to open the trunk. I took the small rod out and noticed it has a curve to it...

Looking for an uncoded trunk lock, where can I buy one?

OK thanks to 69HurstOlds, I did get the lock cylinder. While waiting to get someone to work on it, the drilled out cylinder broke even more. I was able to pull the pin and then use a screw driver in the slot to open the trunk. (It sucks because I drove 3.5 hours North to go to a concert and...

Specialty Insurance: Who has made a claim?

I have American Modern for my Camaro. Had a small accident and they were quick to write out a check for the repairs with no deductable. I am paying $140 a year based on $5000 agreed value; however that value is much too low. It was my fault for not raising that up. You want to make sure that...

    Are we toast?

<<Does anyone else share this sentiment? >> YES That is why I am going off grid as much as I can. Society is unraveling and operating at a lower frequency. Regarding the climate, we are having planetary changes but it is only partially caused by humans. People in power always misuse power...

    Getting the F' Outta Dodge.

Good luck. What you wrote resonates with me. I know it is only 4 acres, but with limited income I am moving down to the mountains of N.C. myself. I am at 2400 ft with a mountain range behind me. Keeping it simple for me. I wish I could have a bigger place and land, but I paid cash and I...

    Can't figure out loose steering.

Yes, you had to do a bit of figuring out, but it was worth it to replace that 600. 78 was the year that they started cutting corners on some areas, such as the steering, and the 200 transmission to improve economy and cost

    Can't figure out loose steering.

I have a 78 Cutlass with the 260. It had the Saginaw 600 which I replaced with a Saginaw 800 that was for the Hurst Olds of that year, quick ratio. I ordered the pitman arm and steering box from Rock Auto. Made a big difference. I replace all the steering linkage (lasted for 40 years) with...

Anyone just keeping it stock to cruise around anymore?

I know every complains about the Olds 260, but I have no problems with my 78 Cutlass. Of course it is not as fast as my Camaro, but for a daily it is perfect. The car is lightweight, aluminum hood, no A/C, modified suspension, quick ratio steering, SSIII wheels. I removed the cat and have a...

Road trip recommendations for the south west US

I would suggest the Southwest National Parks, Joshua National Park in CA, parks in Arizona, snf New Mexico. It will get cold but not an abundance of snow. I am from New England area of the country, but have traveled to the Southwest but only during the warmer months. I would also consider...

Road trip recommendations for the south west US

What are your interests? Are you an outdoorsman? Are you interested in American or Native American history? There are plenty of National Parks, such as the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Yosemite as examples. As you know America is expansive and you can easily spend a week each in only 4...

Looking for an uncoded trunk lock, where can I buy one?

Anyone else find and bought one recently? I had to have my existing trunk lock drilled out by a locksmith. All I need is a new cylinder to replace that and have it keyed to my existing key. I checked Anazon, ebay, etc and all I see are ones with keys and nothing listed as "uncoded". Has...

Public Service Announcement: Keep a spare HEI module in the glove compartment!

It may already be obvious to others. Anyway, thank God I had a spare in my glove box. I went to get gas, filled it up, started it up, then drove right across the street to the garage where they are working on my 78 Camaro. I had it running since I just stopped by to check in and let them...

    sea foam motor treatment

My 78 Camaro is only used for about 3 to 5 months out of the year. All I do is is change the yearly oil with Mobil 1 Synthetic, fill up with 93 Octane, and occasionally use Stabil Ethanol Treatment. As long as I use fresh oil and keep the tank full I avoid the moisture and sludge with the...
