Anyone else find and bought one recently? I had to have my existing trunk lock drilled out by a locksmith. All I need is a new cylinder to replace that and have it keyed to my existing key.
I checked Anazon, ebay, etc and all I see are ones with keys and nothing listed as "uncoded".
Has...
It may already be obvious to others. Anyway, thank God I had a spare in my glove box. I went to get gas, filled it up, started it up, then drove right across the street to the garage where they are working on my 78 Camaro. I had it running since I just stopped by to check in and let them...
I have a rear aftermarket sway bar installed on my 78 Cutlass. It presently has standard bolts with no spacer installed in the control arm. Apparently these should be the larger diameter metric bolts. I think the standard bolts have rounded out the holes so I am hoping installing the correct...
I had the upper radiator hose clamp on the radiator side split in half. The radiator, hose and clamps were replaced in 2016, about 30K miles ago. I drove up an hour North from RI and when I got off the highway onto a road where they closed one lane down causing a slowdown, I smelled coolant...
It is highly computer generated and when they go to the interior it is another car, but interesting to see it driving into the parking lot
Pearl Jam Retrograde
I placed this in the Cutlass section because I think this is specific to the Olds engines.
I had some work done on the intake gasket and they broke the DTVS. I need a replacement ASAP. I am in the Boston area. This is on the front of the intake, driver's side with 3 vacuum hose inputs. That...
I got a 78 Olds with the 260, non AC. I had to replace the radiator because the fins were corroded. That radiator was installed 3 years ago. So this time got a Spectra. The shop replaced it and changed the coolant Today.
Got it back and got a rough idle. No issues with the 10 miles I used...
It mentions a 4 bolt cover. My 78 Olds, has a round top with no cover. My 78 Camaro has a 4 bolt cover, but the Olds is much different.
Rock Auto list the following but do not show the top:

But looking at that list again, I see this...
http://www.stockinteriors.com/AutoCarpet.asp?Itemid=10078&MakeId=21&ModelId=647
Stock Interiors only list 82-87 Olds Carpet. I know most of the interior panels, seats and dash were used from 78 on-wards.
Does anyone have any idea if this carpet would fit a 78 Olds
Thanks.
The turn signal broke last week and I thought it was the switch. I was getting resistance pushing down on the switch to turn left. Anyway, from what I can see, I think I need a lever, does anyone have one to sell? The reason I believe this, is the following photo. I think this black piece of...
I got an exhaust leak on the left manifold. I found out that the flange rotted and caused the cross over pipe to slip a bit and caused an exhaust leak.
First I thought the pipe needed to be replaced, but the 260 uses a smaller diameter pipe compared to the 350/307. It is under 2 inches! This...
I have the 260 with the 2bbl carb. I noticed the steel line from the choke to the choke stove on the intake was rotted. I bought that line as well as the line from the back of the carb. I then realized the existing stove lines going in were rusted in the choke stove.
I bought a new choke...
I got my top replaced and as they were putting the trim back together the plastic fastners broke because they were brittle. Mainly the large ones for the b pillar and the smaller clips for the chrome/painted strip at the bottom of the rear window.
Are these available new? Does anyone have any...
Can someone provide me a picture of the fan shroud for a v8 260 engine? The 1978 Olds Chassis Service Manual, page 6B-10 shows for VIN F, no shroud. I have a small upper shroud and I am certain it is not original. The radiator was replaced by the previous owner and the shroud is sort of an...
I can't find the OEM specs for the springs I already have in my Cutlass. The build sheet list it as DW, and my manuals I have don't list the specs for the springs. The car has no A/C, and is the 260 V8.
There are 3 available and I am curious which one is the best match to what I already have...
Rock Auto has a batch of AC Delco NOS PCV Valves CV787C (8995067) for $1.98 that I picked up for my 260 in my 78. Found out when I got them that they appear to be NOS and are made in the US. The PCV valve it replaced only lasted 3 yrs, less than 20,000.
Not sure if this PCV Valve can be used...
