Haven't been to the track for years but a lot of folks saying that they lost too much money from the dragstrip portion of the facility and leasing out to Copart for car storage.
I heard the one in May is not what it used to be. Five years ago it was great. I haven't be there for like 3 years but had a good time before it got to crazy. This video below happened to take place right outside of my hotel room that night. It was awesome, I'm not going to lie.
Maple Grove is my "local" track, about 45 minutes away, but I have about 8 dragstrips 2.5 hours away. I don't race at Maple Grove as much because they drag the program along too much. Great people that help run the facility but Cecil County is my go to now about 30 minutes farther away. They...
Your typical prep as if you were painting a car. Wiped down with this stuff they had called pre-dip spray and used Napfa in some spots too. We used a gun that he had which almost looked like a vacuum canister.
I knew the body wasn't going to be perfect. I just wanted a new color instead of different shades of tan and whatever other colors there were. My buddy and I plastdipped to the whole car in Anthracite Gray. Took a long time Saturday but very happy with the results. Trim will be done in black...
It's simple to go back to the junkyard and pick up another LS complete for $500-$1000 and be done. Yes I know there's a lot more little knock knacks. I was going down that route until I found out the block was no good. After that I didn't feel like worrying about used anymore and went...
Good luck to you. I graduated from Penn State back in 2008 with a Bachelors in Corporate Communications. Did horrible while in school but have a lot of work experience at this current time in the financial industry field. Sometimes you never work in a field you went to school for.
Did you ever think about looking at the Daytona Sensor Smart Spark. It's called something along those lines. A little more pricey but hear nothing but good things about it.
I have a posi rear out of a Monte Carlo SS. Bone stock rear with the 3.73 gears.
Like mentioned earlier one of the Blueprint 383s and a new TH350 and converter from Select Transmissions.
My dad is very old school so he has some things he wants to tinker with but hasn't told me yet. Car is full weight just minus the HVAC stuff. No tubular stuff all stock suspension. Haven't gotten it on the scales yet.
So I finally have everything together for the wagon. It's a 1983 with a new Blueprint 383 with aluminum heads. There's also a brand new TH350 with a valve body and a new 9" torque converter that's good for the street and also the track. We still have some things to tinker with but we had to...
Right now until we get the right converter for the car and do some tuning, it's running low 12s cutting low 1.7 60' times on a M/T drag radial. That was on a tight converter. We will be getting one a little more loose. It will be seeing a lot more runs being that I bracket race the car. What...
I have a 383 in my wagon around the 450hp mark. Put in a posi rear from Monte Carlo SS, didn't touch a thing and hasn't broke yet. Has about 100 street miles and 15 passes at the dragstrip. I'm sure the rear had more mileage before it went into my car.
