I've tried both on my el caminoes. H gives a more muscle'y sound. X is more raspy. Thats not just an opinion. The x is more highpitched in general

Well, i have one for a 3rd gen base firebird but without the pitman arm.. could i swap that over from the second gen? I eill msot likely be running wide c4 swablade rims so decreased turning radius might not be a bad thing!

On a rustfree car with bo bolt breaking, using a 2 post lift, it can be done in an hour. On a garagefloor, with all bomts breaking, you might as well take a loan in the house and do a full teardown and rebuild while LS swapping it!

Then it makes more sense to me. How is the NVH(nouse vibration and harshness) after you installed them? I might consider them as i just spent 3 hours taking one apart and havent installed new bushings yet. Im guessing the second one will cause me just as much grief to disassemble.

I dont get it. Why not run the stock ones with new bushings. Unless you're building an all out track performer, going with solid bushings is overkill.

Fron the sound alone the 305 sounded like a faster car although it would get stomped by the 350 in a race..

I have had both x and h on 2 different el caminos.. The H was a 305 engine putting out 230hp at the crank. Sounded godly with unkown flowmasters on. The x was a 350 with 320hp. It didnt sound nearly as good. But i used hooker aero chamber flowthrough mufflers on that one so that also changes...

You tightened the suspension bushings with the car up. And you havent rolled tve car around elther. Both will make a substantial drop.

H pipes sound better than xpipes. Thats my opinion.
