    Chassis, Handling and Aero Books

I dug out some old books after a good discussion in Tony1968 ’s build thread regarding heat extractor vent design and placement. It’s been a few years, and forgot I actually have multiple books that cover the handling and aerodynamics! “How to Make Your Muscle Car Handle” is probably the best...

    Polishing a plastic emblem

For all you resto guys. Any tips on polishing the scuffs out of the clear portion? It looks like it shuffled around within the bag for who knows how long. It’s not nearly as bad straight on but it’s difficult to get a pic. I’m not sure I can fix the scratch on the chrome either, but any ideas...

    Help with 3 wire cruise

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a 3 wire cruise switch? The 3 wire stalk I’m going to run doesn’t have the same # of wires as the aftermarket setup and I’m trying to figure out how to rig this up. Thanks in advance!!

    Delay Wiper Motor

Dragging out decades old boxes, I found my wiper motor is a non-delay style. My wire harness and stalk are delay style from an 84. Looking at Dixie Resto and Mikes, there are remaned and non-delay specific, but I don’t see any delay specific setups. I’ll reach out to them, but wanted to put this...

    Getting it moving again

It’s been a while since I’ve updated my build thread, and it’s been closed up now. New baby, new job and all that life stuff slowed things down for a bit. https://gbodyforum.com/threads/malibu-t-top-conversion.65198/ The project has begun to ramp back up again though. Recently I completely...

    Underhood Wiring Diagrams

Anybody have any underhood wiring diagrams from a ECM car they could share? I am customizing an 84 el Camino harness to work on my LS swapped Malibu and don’t want to cut the wrong wires out. The 79 fisher body manual I have doesn’t show much of what the newer harness has.

    For sale - questionable miles

Screaming deal with only 17k miles. Even if they’re accurate, it still looks like it was parked in a swamp:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F183949181955

    Steering wheel resto

I’ve got a burgundy steering wheel out of an El Camino (think Monte SS wheel but not black) that is in really nice shape except for 11 to 1 o’clock, where it is worn completely smooth. Does anyone know of restoration options for these wheels? Anyone ever use one of those wheelskins style sew...

    Dust shields with big brakes

Is anyone running dust shields with large aftermarket discs? Can they be bought, or do they need to be custom fabricated? I have 13” discs on C6 hubs and caliper mounts in front, and 13” discs in the rear on a small ford 9” flange.

Guys with an LS & T56, need your help

I’m starting the steel work on my 79 Malibu body (its off the frame) and know I’ll need to cut a hole in the tunnel to fit the trans. I will be running a 6.2L LS3 with a T56 trans and the Holley motor mounts. I have all the mounts but won’t have the motor or trans until this winter. Do any guys...

    Sweet Garage Art B-Day Gift

My brother couldn't think of what to buy for a b-day present, so he made this. His inspiration came from a g body shuffle sign (featuring a Monte) that we saw at a swap meet. Pretty awesome gift!!

    Blast From The Past Thread

olds307 and 403's post - and especially his hood scoop - got me thinking about some of my cars long gone. I didn't want to hijack his thread. This is the only digital pic I have of my 1986 Cutlass. It wasn't my first car (or g body), but it is the one I wish I had back. Picked it up for...

Rearend bushing and Watts link question

So my umi roto-joints won’t fit in the s60 rearend because the ears are too thick. The slot for the snap ring isn’t exposed when the shoulder is seated on the other side of the ear. This leaves 4 options for me: 1) Don’t use the snap ring - no 2) Grind the ear to provide clearance to the snap...

    That's a nice rearend!

...is what my FIL said when he helped me haul this into the garage today. Finally can put the rest of the chassis together and get the frame back on it's own feet!

    Shop Dogs

Snapped this picture of my pups basking in the last remnants of summer the other day. The black one by the dreadmill is 12 and the brown one in front is 13 and starting to have some serious health problems. I'm thankful they have been great companions this long, but am not looking forward to...

BUILD THREAD Project Over The Top - Malibu T-Top Conversion

I've always had a soft spot for the Malibus, and growing up in the 80s, thought t-tops were the coolest thing someone could have on a car. Our neighbor had a t-top cutlass, and I was always a little jealous our 'Bu didn't even have that option. Fast forwarding some years, I started building my...
