1986 (1981-1988?) Sway bar to frame bolts

Looks like it. Whatever number was used on a 1992 Camaro was different (1992 Camaro is the earliest year/car GM's catalog recognizes that I figured would be closest to an A/G Body). Thanks. Had ones presumably from a 1970 Chevelle that met its demise when in reality, it was restorable, but...

1986 (1981-1988?) Sway bar to frame bolts

Does anyone have the GM# to the M10 x 1.5 (10mm hex head) bolts that hold the sway bar bushings and associated brackets to the frame?

    CU162 Radiator

No issues with the radiator being too thick. My car apparently had the 3-row from the factory. A 2-row radiator would be a different part# CU570. The main problem was mounting the original transmission cooler lines. I'm guessing in the fight to get them loose, the lines got stretched from their...

    CU162 Radiator

One thing I noticed is that the transmission cooler line ports have adapters from what appears to be 5/16 line (3/8 thread) to 3/8 line. I've never done the transmission lines on this car, but on a B/D body I have and they were just 5/16 inverted flare brake lines I had to bend to shape.

    CU162 Radiator

Thanks for all the replies, lots of good information. The radiator I ordered in this time is made a little different than I've seen previously in terms of the aftermarket CU162. This one has two plastic threaded ports with threaded plugs instead of rubber caps.

    CU162 Radiator

CU162 or 162 seems to be the industry # for replacement G-body radiators. Does anyone have any experience with these? I was going to get one a while back, but wasn't a fan of the drain location, extra port blocked off with a rubber cap and clamp (?!), and that it's a plastic tank/aluminum...

Oldsmobile Quadrajet flexible fuel pump to carburetor line

It happened on the original fuel line at the carburetor. Then when the replacement arrived in the mail, it took a whole weekend with ratchet straps prying and pulling to get everything to line up (barely) to thread back together. Works the first time if the line is perfectly bent and is the...

Oldsmobile Quadrajet flexible fuel pump to carburetor line

That would be a way to do it. But that's also like unbolting a door and bolting it back on every time you get in and out of the car. I would agree just with what I've experienced driving the car every day more or less for 15 years. It's not a hot rod or toy. That being said, if I need to...

Oldsmobile Quadrajet flexible fuel pump to carburetor line

From what I gather, the ends to the braided hoses are like a compression fitting. So, it would just be a matter of finding the ends that are made to be whatever thread a standard 3/8 brake line would be. As opposed to AN or pipe thread. I guess the problem is most people who use non-factory...

Oldsmobile Quadrajet flexible fuel pump to carburetor line

And to clarify, I'd be looking for something with the factory inverted flare fittings. The factory tube is just a 3/8 brake line bent to fit (though it is almost impossible to make yourself with the right bend at the carburetor end).

Oldsmobile Quadrajet flexible fuel pump to carburetor line

Looking to see if anybody has converted their main feed line to braided flexible type? I like the hard line, but if you ever go to change the filter or pump, it's a day of trying to get it threaded back in IF you don't cross thread something. For example, an Edelbrock 8123. Just can't do many...

14" Buick Rallyes painted body color

I'll have to look back in the brochures I have. The pace car is a good representation. I was thinking of getting trim rings. But, getting the correct (square) profile, and depth is another challenge.

14" Buick Rallyes painted body color

Does anyone own a Regal and is running painted 14", 5-spoke rallyes? My car originally had wire hub caps, but I switched to chrome rallyes. It's been many, many years of daily year-round driving, so the chrome is worn through and rusted in spots. Looking to get them blasted and painted body...

OK! Rusted Through roof! Total repaint.

It really doesn't look like a bad car at all. Virginia cars generally have rock solid undercarriages. Maybe the roof rusted because it was a coastal Virginia car? There is a 1978/1979 that a YouTube guy was selling ("Cerealmarshmallows") in Southern California, but yet the roof was badly rotten...

307 Olds air/smog pump belt adjustment

The air pump belt met it's match with a pair of tin snips. I'll get the new one back on right away Mr. G-man... Meanwhile, the power steering belt that needed changed is on.

307 Olds air/smog pump belt adjustment

Should help, thanks. I certainly don't want to knock Oldsmobiles specifically. There's just certain things I haven't had to do or change out yet. It's not exactly a great time, and frame of mind makes a big difference. The alternator and belt are easy since they are first in the sequence.

307 Olds air/smog pump belt adjustment

Thanks, you helped quite a bit when I posted about my fuel pump as well. A good frame of mind works wonders. Changing out the alternator was an easy 15 minute job. I think the main problem is that the Oldsmobile engine is best worked on if you were to pull it out to rebuild, then reassemble and...

OK! Rusted Through roof! Total repaint.

Honestly, it sounds like both estimates are unrealistically low. For someone to do a big rust repair job like that AND paint it, two-tone on top of that, I wouldn't expect much in terms of quality/longevity. There are cases when someone does good work for a decent price, but don't expect it...

307 Olds air/smog pump belt adjustment

Working in the dark, outside, after work in short windows before rain. 1986 G body. Actually trying to replace the (original) power steering belt, and now see why it was never replaced in 35 years. Certain things that should be simple are a complete nightmare. So anyway, all other belts except...

    P215/75R14 tires

Will P215/75R14 tires, on factory 14x6 rallye wheels, fit on a G-body? In particular a Regal? Stock. It looks like this was the factory size for the previous generation A-body, 1973-1977. But those were obviously much larger cars. I'll probably just go with P205/75R14 due to cost ($20-40 less...
