Long time inactive/new cars, new problems

Hey there, its been a hell of a long time since I've been on here. Currently living in Las Vegas and sitting on 3 different cars in various states of disrepair: '90 Mercedes 190E 2.6/auto that now refuses to upshift, '92 Jaguar XJS V12 'vert that I love very much, and a '90 Acura Integra that's...

2019 Projects: Jurassic Jeep+possibly Explorer, Sold my Eagle Wagon, Getting back in the G-Game

Funny enough I was on eBay last night, wasting time and looking at neat things for sale, and I came across two grey 404 convertibles, a '66 and a '63, as well as a very cool 505 wagon...

2019 Projects: Jurassic Jeep+possibly Explorer, Sold my Eagle Wagon, Getting back in the G-Game

A little more progress on Jurassic Jeep stuff. I've been gathering parts for a little over a month now, and I just received my 102" CB whip+ball mount, some pre-cut foam for my trunk case, and most importantly(most expensive I might add) Ramsey REP 9500e winch with the correct chrome bars and...

2019 Projects: Jurassic Jeep+possibly Explorer, Sold my Eagle Wagon, Getting back in the G-Game

I've always noticed that, Goodfellas is another of my very favorite movies, just like Casino, Donnie Brasco, Black Mass, and Carlito's Way. A sea of late-70's American Luxury Iron. The "Western Saddle Firemist" '79 Coupe DeVille Phaeton that Liotta drives towards the end is another car I've had...

2019 Projects: Jurassic Jeep+possibly Explorer, Sold my Eagle Wagon, Getting back in the G-Game

Hello all, though I sold my beloved '82 Calais T-Top in July '18, I've stuck around here anyways, since this is the best group/forum I have had the pleasure of being a part of; that and I don't think you can ever get G-Body's out of your system once you've had a few. At this point in the year...

'61 Corvair Monza, '96 Caprice, AMC Eagle+Scirocco update

I've been itching to take my Dad's '94 Roadie off his hands, he keeps saying he'll only get rid of it for a Roadmaster/Caprice wagon, possibly a Custom Cruiser. I jumped on the Caprice since it didn't cost me much of anything and it has low-ish miles. Turns out a coworker of mine had a '96 9C1...

    Weirdest optioned g-body cutlass

My '82 Cutlass was kind of an oddball. Calais(buckets, floor shift, Rally's, steering wheel, Rally Gauges, rocker trim), T-Tops, clock delete, rear defrost, no power windows, no power locks, no power seats, F41, factory 3.08 Posi, 3.8, AC, Cruise, delay wipers, factory "tint" or so they claim...

'61 Corvair Monza, '96 Caprice, AMC Eagle+Scirocco update

Well, it is with a heavy heart that I say I sold my '82 Cutlass Calais T-Top, but I badly needed a daily driver. So, since the Eagle's brakes were getting worse by the minute, I picked up "Grimace" here. '96 Caprice Classic. L99(lame) 4.3L, 97k miles. Terrible paintjob, perfect interior, runs...

    New Daily: '86 Eagle Wagon

Well, just finished up a huge fiasco. I hear the Chrysler Torqueflite selector shaft seal is a very common leaking point. I took the Eagle out and went up a hill that our Astro would take without fuss(maybe a 4/10) and it was dumping trans fluid like it was going out of style. Finally fixed this...

The Collection Grows: 1984 VW Scirocco Wolfsburg

I have actually alleviated that issue recently, my parents have the Flex, the P71, Roadmaster, and Astro van, and I'm down to the Olds, the Scirocco, and the Eagle wagon. Both bugs sold recently so it tightens everything up a bit. I guess you could say I'm an aspiring collector

The Collection Grows: 1984 VW Scirocco Wolfsburg

Just picked this sweet ride up. I've wanted one for a long time, and I found this 250 miles away for cheap. Drove home at ~75-95mph the entire way with no issues. 1.8 8V and what feels like a short ratio 5-speed, definitely non-overdrive and the rpm drop gear-to-gear is almost nothing. It's very...

What Is The First Car You Were Obsessed With?

I remember being into cars since I could remember. I was born in Portland in '97, so my Dad was a big lowrider guy. His first car was a '75 Impala 4-door hardtop, dark green with green guts and a black top, it was backyard-lowered in '92 at his friend's parent's house. Interestingly, that friend...

    Looking For Advice *G-Body Related*

Well I never thought I'd say this, but I'm pretty worried about an emissions test. I currently live in a place where we have no smog or safety inspections(the middle of nowhere), and in just a few months I'll be living in Boise, Idaho. My question is, does anyone here in the Boise area know just...

    What's your winter beater?

In High School it was the Astro, then last year it was the Monte. She did great with a peg-leg and a V8. My intentions were to make the Beetle a winter fun car but the car had it's own intentions. This year it looks like it'll be the Eagle...if I could ever get motivated enough to dive into the...

    New Daily: '86 Eagle Wagon

I have looked into it, and the easiest way to get EFI and a little more power is to use a 4.0L head(I'm informed by the AMC guys that it's the best flowing, best performing AMC head), with an aftermarket 4bbl intake and an off-the-shelf stand alone EFI like Fast, Edelbrock, Holley, etc...

Holiday tradition, every (running)car gets a bow for the season I believe it has a BBD on it currently, but I haven't really torn into it. I have heard the Motorcraft carb can be an upgrade

    New Daily: '86 Eagle Wagon

Picked this sweet ride up a few weeks ago. '86 Eagle wagon. 258, Chrysler 998TF auto, 4x4, 142k miles. Bought from a guy who had a few Comanche's and XJ's laying around. He offered me an SX/4 parts car with it, but unfortunately with this, the Olds, and the 2 Bug's I'm running out of space. I've...

    '74 Beetle Daily Driver

No leaks, all vacuum hoses are new and the carburetor was recently replaced. Did sort of a leakdown test on it, seemed fine. All valves open and close normally, piston seems to seal just fine, no oil smoke at all
