Some pics of my 6.0l swapped SS

Sweet Monte! You're living my dream. Good job mating the old & new. I would love to be able to do this to my car. Bet it's a fun driver with the LS & stick.

    Flat Tappet/Camshaft - Specific Oil

The 80's cam failure was caused by incorrect heat treating of the cam. To answer your question, I'm using Kendall GT-1 which has zddp additive. I get it from my local jobber (400/401 area). I paid around $25 for 5 litres so it's reasonably priced too.

Rockatansky's Bold, Brash and Blocky 1978 Malibu Build

You've accomplished a lot in a few short months. Look great. I read in your thread about your rocker panel issues, but still remarkably rust free- esp. for a local car. Should be a fun driver.

can I save this engine for a while?

I know you said "from the coil to the wires there's spark". The first thing I would do is throw a spark tester in #2 wire & verify spark. My first instinct when I see a wet plug is the plug is not firing. If you confirm you have spark then I would do as mentioned above & do a wet & dry...

    Acceleration problem

Hello & welcome from Toronto, Canada. Could be many things causing this issue. I would start with the basics. Do a compression test to check for engine mechanical problem. Check for timing chain stretch if the mileage is high. Check for exhaust restriction using a vacuum gauge. Connect gauge to...

    T-Top swap...'85 Monte

Locking vs. non- locking- lock is contained within the t- top panel, no reason why it wouldn't interchange. Had an extra set of non locking tops come with my car when I bought it. Not sure what they're off, but they have a plastic trim around the outside edge of the glass which makes them too...

What did you do to your G-Body today? [2011-2018]

Played with the timing curve in my streetfire HEI distributor. Switched vacuum advance to ported vacuum. My original setup had 6 degrees of base timing, 12 degrees of vac. advance, & 18 degrees of mechanical advance. I reduced vac. advance to 8 degrees & boosted base timing to 10 degrees. Gives...

So, funny thing happened to me today(Read-I'm an Idiot)

Years ago, my stepfather was given a 16' aluminium boat with an 18hp merc, but with no trailer. Somewhere along the line, he picked up a trailer. One year while on vacation, I modified the trailer to fit the boat, fixed up the boat & trailer, lights, etc. Hooked it up to the truck for the...
