    5000hp Hurst Olds

    Aluminum intake prices

My buddy went to oreilly the other day to buy a 200.00 off the shelf Edelbrock aluminum intake. Nothing special, just the EPS intake. It is now 449.00. I haven’t looked around at summit or any others but that is ridiculous. Anyone else notice this price increase?

    eBay engine rebuild kits

My buddy wants to rebuild the 350 sbc in his 1 ton dump truck. He was going to order a rebuild kit from summit or jegs and they have none. Everyone must be rebuilding their engines during coronavirus Or something. Anyway, has anyone bought a kit from eBay? What seller and was the quality...

Holley Sniper EFI. Who’s running one, any opinions, tuning?

So I have the Holley sniper throttle body on the 327 in my mcss with a t5 behind it. Almost every time I drive it, it acts different. I have probably 700 miles on it in 3 years and it isn’t what I thought it would be so far. Im not giving up on it but there is no consistency. Last couple times...

    Spring compressor

Hello everyone. I’m trying to install the front coil springs in my 51 Chevy truck and it’s not cooperating. What spring compressor do you guys recommend? I got a brand new one from a buddy and it stripped the threads off the rod before the spring was compressed. So I went to autozone and got...

    The bracing saga continues

Last week I posted a thread about my homemade Lower control arm braces. A lot of you gave me great feedback and advice. While under the car, I started brainstorming. The frames on these cars like to flex. I opted not to weld a LCA brace and made a “bolt in” style. Why can’t I do that with...

    Homemade LCA braces. Opinions?

If everything goes as planned, I want to autocross my Monte Carlo at the super summit in Norwalk Ohio in July. I plan on buying some suspension parts when UMI gets back after Covid 19. I thought bracing the chassis at the lower control arms would be a good idea. I don’t want to weld on the...

    GNX mount

So I got all my body bolts out and going to replace the mounts. Now I see that a lot of members here recommend the prothane mounts due to a better price verses energy suspension. My question is, does the prothane set come with the extra body mounts like energy suspensions? Also does anyone...

    Fluid Film

So there was a thread last week where a member asked about body mounts. I posted in the thread about replacing mine and got a lot of great responses and helpful information. Thanks to everyone that shared their input! Anyway, quite a few members mentioned PB Blaster. I have and still do use...

    T56 differences. Is there any?

Hello everyone, I found a t56 transmission out of a 1998 (if I remember right) Pontiac Trans Am. It had an LT1 in front of it. 80000 miles were on the clock and have the Bellhousing with it. I have looked up if there were any differences and really the only thing I am seeing is input and...

Adjustable shocks or standard? Mono or twin?

Hello everyone, I haven’t posted in awhile. Been working on another project, my 67 K10 truck. Got that pretty much where I want it and now I am eager to do a few more upgrades to the MCss. I want to put 2” lowering springs in the rear to level it out. I have the stock F41’s in the front. KYB...

    What carb is this?

Hello everyone. I picked this carburetor up at the local junkyard the other day and not sure what the application would be. I know it is a 2 barrel Holley 2300 series, model 4412 which is a 500 cfm. I have many 2300 carbs and have never seen one like this. Anyone know what it is for? Thanks guys.

    Engine running hot in traffic

Hello everyone. I have a 327 in my MCSS. I built it last winter when I did almost everything to the car but paint. The 327 is bored .30 over, roller cam, roller rockers, 492 GM angle plug heads, and Holley sniper EFI. I put a brand new aluminum 3 core radiator in the car when I put it all...

    Summit Motorsports Spring Warmup

Anyone close to Norwalk Oh? The spring warmup is April 27 and 28. Swap meet and test and tune down the track. Anything brought to the track can make a hit. Last year there were more mustangs and challengers there than anything. Bring the g body's out and have fun! Bring your parts and sell...

T5 is rebuilt and waiting for good weather

so I just rebuilt the t5 with the help of Paul Cangliosi's custom rebuild kit. Comes with all the bearings, syncros, slider clips, springs, etc. never done one before but you can't learn if you don't do anything. It was actually really easy after I had it apart four or five times to make sure...

    Flywheel weight determination UPDATE

Last winter I converted the Monte Carlo to a manual trans with the Camaro T5. John B pedal, Camaro hydraulics, Zoom clutch, and a light weight (16 lbs) flywheel. I also put the Holley Sniper EFI on my 327 sbc I built for the car. I know little about the EFI but from the research I did on the...
