In Crook. Yeah, love Chicago but it's a bit iffy in parts nowadays. Last generation of the Family came from the city and didn't go back 🤣

BUILD THREAD '88 Monte Carlo SS w/ LY6 6.0 swap

Couple of incremental additions to the interior. -New shifter plate modified to fit the Lokar shifter, along with leather shift boot as well. - I'm really trying to stay as 80's as possible so I added a Retrosound stereo to replace the factory stereo that was starting to act up. - Found an...

BUILD THREAD '88 Monte Carlo SS w/ LY6 6.0 swap

Been a couple years. Time for some updates! Thanks to the mods for unlocking the thread after I neglected it 🕸️ Last summer I paid a visit to Speed Inc. for a dyno-tune. Pulled 347 HP/357 TQ and the street manners are much better. The injector saga continues for me. For compatibility and tuning...

    Rear upper seat bolts/hardware

I have an 88 mcss that's been apart for a few years. I'm getting the interior back together and forgot what hardware goes with the metal brackets at the bottom of the upper portion of the rear seat. Does anyone have a Pic or a description of the hardware they could provide?

PSI harness - Check Engine/MIL light constant on

The resistor was the fix. For my application I Ran the check engine wire into the Dakota unit and tapped an additional wire from 12v key on source with a 1k resistor in line. You may also be able to use a light bulb

BUILD THREAD '88 Monte Carlo SS w/ LY6 6.0 swap

Late Summer update! Changed course on a couple things. Decided to consolidate and simplify some wiring and picked up the Dakota Digital RTX series gauges. I went with the RTX-86C-MC-X. I really dig the original/retro feel. Wiring was straight forward. Ended up troubleshooting the fuel gauge...

Opinion: Setting mileage on restored cars

I'm in Illinois so generally the state is unconcerned if the car is 10+ years and you are not actively committing fraud. I have records on everything and most likely going to keep this thing in the family so I'm just deciding on my preference. I'm leaning towards starting at 0 to keep the...

Opinion: Setting mileage on restored cars

I've recently installed new Guages for my restomod Monte SS and I'll need to set the odometer within 100 miles. Original odometer had 95k before I tore into the car 10 years ago. I've since swapped a 6.0L w/ 25k and swapped a refreshed frame in. On one hand I like that the car has 95k of...
