    Gauges

I think you will have to pull the instrument cluster and start investigating. The fuel gauge, idiot lights, and lighting could be something electrical, but the speedo itself is just a mechanical cable so it is suprising that it isn't working. It might be disconnected behind the instrument...

BUILD THREAD 1981 Camino 4 Speed Friday Night Build

The Kubota is a late 70's 24HP. I only use it a few times a year, but it definitely beats shoveling snow! The son is a good helper. He hung in there last night until around 10:45. He passed out before the painting actually got done and was only there for the prep so he was bummed out. Did my...

BUILD THREAD 1981 Camino 4 Speed Friday Night Build

Finally getting back on it. Got the firewall cleaned up. First time using POR 15. I did go through the recommended 3 step process. It was a pain in the butt but it did turn out well. I did it now as a partial job just to get the spots done while the heater box and inner fender was out. Once the...

    bad engine vibration

BTW this is a ford 302. He thought maybe the vibration was an incorrect flexplate since the SBF'S had a few different weight flexplates but then found this when pulling the motor.

    bad engine vibration

Helping out a buddy. He had a bad engine vibration, bought the car that way. He is pulling the motor and it looks like 4/7 cylinders were never working. Other than plug wires incorrect, what would cause this? I wouldn't think it would have even ran this way. He said the vibration was pretty...

    Use for scrap wheels

I did think about making a set of jack stands, but they do take up a lot of room and I only have a 400 ft2 garage so I have to prioritize space. A new work seat might not be a bad idea. I have one but a custom one is always kind of neat.

    Use for scrap wheels

At this point I have accumulated a boatload of spare steel wheels, mostly 14". Other than scrapping them to make room, or keeping 1 set for rollers, are there any fabrication projects to use them up? I've seen using them before for bases for small stationary equipment like grinder stands. Any...

BUILD THREAD 1981 Camino 4 Speed Friday Night Build

Not a huge amount of progress. The last 2 Friday nights have been shorter, but I have had my buddy with me. Last weekend we cleaned the passenger inner fender to get it ready to go back in after re-installing the heater box. It cleaned up pretty well with simple green. Also cleaned up and had...

    Factory Manual Brakes Question

I paid $22 for the set up, which $20 of was for the master cylinder which I will end up buying a rebuilt unit anyways, but was worth it to get the pushrod and pushrod retainer cup. Will post an update in my build thread once it gets swapped.

    Factory Manual Brakes Question

Here is the master cylinder from the car. It has the longer pushrod, and a factory pushrod retainer cup to keep the pushrod from falling out. I am guessing the pushrod retaining cup is just kind of pressed into the back of the master cylinder and I can hopefully yank/pry it out of there without...

    Need some imput/help

Keep the 305 short block. Add an intake, carb, headers, etc to it now and have a little fun while you get a 350 together on the side then swap in the 350 when it is ready. Much more budget friendly and at the end of the day you can make more power for less money than an LS.

    Factory Manual Brakes Question

I thought there was some on the early years. Rock Auto lists a manual brake master cylinder. I took a look and I do have a higher empty stud hole on my brake pedal of my el camino.
