according to my service manual its located LH Rear Of Engine, Left Of Distributor from what I can see underneath the car I have no opening above the oil filter. I just ordered some fittings from a plumbing supplier in hopes that I can make them work.
Hi Guys,
I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can get the 90 degree elbow that goes in to the top of the manifold just behind the distributor. to feed the oil pressure light in my 87. mine was leaking oil everywhere and when I tried to remove it of course it snapped off in the block. so it...
so after some crazy troubleshooting, I found what I suspect to be my short. its ether my ignition switch or somewhere between there an my cluster, does anyone have a copy of the pin-out for the ignition switch wiring?
so I assume that means my fault is somewhere before the cluster? between the fuse and the cluster connection
also drogg1 I thought that was the case would you by chance know where I would find the oil pressure sensor on my 305?
Hi Guys, not sure weather I should post in the both of the threads. but the gauge cluster tests out perfect. but checking the connector on the vehicle side it seems my short is in the oil sender circuit then also in the dash lights I have a fault but it hasn't blown a fuse yet (just gives the...
apologies on that one, and that is exactly what I'm seeing now, when the cluster is removed IGN 1 and Gauges fuse no longer blow but I'm not sure if that means my gauge cluster is the suspect of my short?
would anyone happen to have the pin out for the standard idiot light + fuel gauge cluster (1987 Grand Prix)
I believe I have a short somewhere ether in the cluster or in the harness
any help would be appreciated
the car doesn't have the optional gauge package, its only got warning lights for Oil Pressure, Temp and Voltage. only actual gauge is for fuel (thus the 10 AMP fuse) I'm suspecting after some digging previous owner rigged up a new temp sensor (1 terminal) and it may be shorting. I will post some...
Hi Guys,
I have an 87 GP (Base) with the Chevrolet 305 recently it has started constantly blowing 2 Fuses on my fuse block [IGN 1 - 10 AMP (according to my fuse block) and Gauges - 10 AMP] just not sure where to start the troubleshooting process but if its any help the Ignition 1 fuse will blow...
followed your advice ck80, got it all fixed up after some tinkering and now it works perfectly :), the last issue I've now found is that the latch on the rear of my bucket seat (for access to the back seats) seems to have failed and the seat flops forward freely has anyone dealt with this or...
Hi All,
so got it figured out, the cable for the hot cold mix is in fact working but the piece where the little arm mounts to the car has broken off
(below is how it should look) where as mine moves freely and wont push the rod in, I have pushed it all the way in and now I get slightly cooler...
