    200 4R swap

Mac, taking the info you gave and watching this video https://www.summitracing.com/parts/hly-20-121 I bought both parts. Holley recommends 20-121 to get the geometry correct for the 200 and 700. I just bought both.

    200 4R swap

Here is a better photo, my bracket is 100% universal which probably isn't a good thing. I think I'll get the Holley one. The good think is I now know that it goes to the same location on the linkage.

G Force Crossmember 700R4 Transmission Angle

I agree that angle is wrong. Most G-body's have a -2 ish degree angle from parallel ground (some variances obviously) That is referring to the crank which is the same as the rest of the drive line. From there, most drive shafts will increase in negative angle to the rear end. You didn't...

    200 4R swap

I'm about to transition from a TH-350 to the 2004R. I've got just about everything else sorted except one thing... the TV cable location. Attached is a photo of my current linkage with the kickdown cable. Does the TV cable have the same mounting point on the linkage? Is the geometry the...

    Cross member question?

I just did the same search, those results are goofy. If you look close at the TH-350, the transmission mount is longer than the actual case. That's impossible, LOL I'll stick with TCI and your recommendation for a crossmember. Thanks for the help!

    Cross member question?

It's an 80 Elcamino, I've looked hard at the area but there is no room to slide the crossmember back. Floor pans get in the way. I got lead on an aftermarket one so I think I'm headed in the right direction.

    Cross member question?

Thanks for the info! I feel better now. Here is the page I got my measurements from https://www.tciauto.com/trans-dim#2004R https://www.tciauto.com/trans-dim#TH350 If the source is correct, they both are 27 11/16" end to end, but the mounting for the 200 sits farther back. My G-Body is an 80...

    Cross member question?

Quick history. Pulled the 305 and put in a stroker with a TH350 years ago. I had the drive shaft shortened, and modified the existing cross member for duel exhaust. NOW... I want to put in a built 200 4R, the center hole is set back 6 5/8" where it bolts to the cross member, is there an...

    High idle

hmmm maybe. I recommend checking for leaks like I mentioned earlier with a can of starter fluid around all hose fittings, vacuum lines, carb base, ect. Kind of like using soapy water to check for leaks on a tire but this time it's vacuum. Next, a nice tool to own is a vacuum gauge, they are...

    Fuel gauge reading ????'s

Your sending unit is a mechanical device that sits inside the tank. Similar to the float inside almost all toilets. As fuel is added, this raises the float. That unit is nothing more than a variable resistor that reads from 0 ohms when it's at it's lowest, to 90 ohms at it's highest. Your...

    High idle

Unlikely it's air, that usually gets flushed out within the first few seconds with a mechanical pump. Did you run or re-connect the fuel return line? Did you mess with the vapor (charcoal) canister? There are connections to your emissions from that can. Check for leaks with a can of starting...

    Control arms

This may seem like a silly question but why not keep the ones you have? They are original. Control arms don't go bad, the bushing and ball joints do. Pull the ones you have out, clean them up, coat them and put in new poly hardware. It will be better than factory and cost you a fraction...

Does anyone know a good source to get a new glovebox for an 80ss Elky? The hinge on mine dry rotted.

    Ignition System

No one called you dumb. After re-reading your original post I caught that you had issues burning them out,... got it. but if you've gone through three then something else is wrong in your ignition system. That just not normal for HEI. A short, bad ground, I don't know?

    Ignition System

Be Careful, Don't buy it because it looks cool or you think it will make your car go faster. Your set up does create enough spark for motors that run less than 6K.. and.. have a lower compression, like below 10.5:1. If you have a monster motor that you take to 6K or more it *might* be worth...

Column Shift Indicator not working right...Please Help!!

Pull it out again, you obviously pinched the sliding mechanism. If the spring pulls it to P with a tap then it's fine. It's rubbing somewhere.

    anyone running 275/60/15 or comparable?

I can't answer the question on the lowering spring but I can offer advice. How much drop do those springs have? If I'm close it should be around 2" right? Why don't you either add weight to the bumper, use a strap to pull it down or get creative and get the ride height down 2" from where it's...
