Is your G-body "Old School" or "Restomod"?

I wouldn't know how to vote....upgraded some suspension with new stock type parts (nothing fancy, heavier Moog springs, etc.), C5 wheels with appropriate tires (still not on road yet so those may go by the wayside for something else due to using spacers. If I ever get the custom rear I may keep...

What did you do to your G-Body today? [2011-2018]

Thanks. Never thought to look for one with o-ring for the Olds. Wish this nice, new and freshly painted OEM one would seal. I'll try to search for one.

Have a yellow top In the Olds for a while and have been happy with the cranking power and how it keeps itself good in storage.

QUOTE="455'ed80Regal, post: 506382, member: 7719"]The one time I used a gasket it leaked. Pulled it back off and cleaned the surfaces and installed without gasket and Permatex and have never used a gasket since. Hmmm...I've heard of using just a gasket (and tried) but never of just...

My 87 Salon with the 330 actually running after 10 years...

I guess they are 1.6...these are just roller-tip and I'll have to find my old receipts to verify part number. They may be the Magnum but I think they weren't rated for my spring pressure. It has been 7-8 years since I bought them. Lol. Hell, they may be Comps, too. Lol. (EDIT)--They should be...

My 87 Salon with the 330 actually running after 10 years...

Hot Rod or Car Craft used that virtual dyno and compares it with real world dyno numbers and although a discrepancy existed, it was minimal (maybe 20 hp and 20 ft/lbs to the positive side). I have a 2400-2600 stall so I will probably change it out later to a 3000+ depending on driving. The big...

My 87 Salon with the 330 actually running after 10 years...

Anubis, the heads are the factory "3" heads. They were decked, some port work, new hardened seats and treated to a polish and I have Crane roller tipped rocker in standard ratio. I haven't had it physically dynoed, but after inputting all of the specs into CompCams CamQuest online virtual dyno...

Thank ya thank ya. Sticker was originally a shiny chrome finish but has lost it's luster after 10 years.

Best fit radiator for our cars?

I too just bought a Champion. Aluminum. Looks and fitment seem top notch. Mine was actually listed as fitting 70-81 Camaro but all the specs seemed correct for my Olds, and like I said above, it fits fine. That may open up your search options.

My 87 Salon with the 330 actually running after 10 years...

Like I said, it's still in need of a fine tune (maybe when I get my thermostat housing to stop leaking), but we like it. Breathing through the old rusted headers into dual 2.5 pipes through dual Flowmasters (40's I think); I have new ceramics to go on it when I can actually drive it normally...

Thanks Texas82GP. As you see, we are southwest in Stafford. We did actually look at about 3 houses in Spring on our trips down looking at homes. Spring was nice, just too much of a commute. My company is in Stafford, and I'm only 2-2.5 miles from work.

She is and I'll let her know you were asking about her. I agree..it didn't start leaking there until I put the radiator cap on and pressurized the system....and the rest is history.

Thank you. Good to see you and good to be back...it has been a while. Family, work, daily life gets in the way...plus we just relocated to Houston from Tennessee. I wouldn't think it's cracked, as it was new, and I have no indication that it is the intake itself. The latest OE housing is...

What did you do to your G-Body today? [2011-2018]

Mr. T Type, I bought the shroud, fans and radiator in a package from ace_replicas http://www.ebay.com/usr/ace_replicas?_trksid=p2047675.l2559 on eBay. This particular set was labeled as fitting a 70-81 Camaro, but all of the specs fit my Cutlass, so I bought it and fit fine. The shroud is just...

What did you do to your G-Body today? [2011-2018]

Good news is I installed my dual fans, to the shroud and all to the new radiator, and got it mounted in the car. Bad news is that upon firing the car back up and filling back up with coolant, my thermostat housing is leaking (I just put this new one on last week in preparation for the radiator...

What did you do to your G-Body today? [2011-2018]

Replaced ujoint today, and ran the car for a couple minutes (first start since we moved to Texas a few months ago). Tore out the "old" new radiator and electric fan I had put in, preparing for the new, new set of fans and new aluminum radiator.
