Bracing body to remove from frame

When I did mine I didn’t weld anything. I put a brace from the upper hinge to the door striker bolt. The a brace from the lower hinge diagonal to the top bar.

Olds ticket to 9s... LS swap adventure.

Didn’t see it in transmission section but I think it applies to transmission cooler lines also because of the dangers involved in blowing a line .

Olds ticket to 9s... LS swap adventure.

This is in the general rules section so it should apply to all vehicles

Olds ticket to 9s... LS swap adventure.

Lines: All non-OEM fuel lines (including gauge and/or data recorder lines) must be metallic, steel braided, or NHRA- accepted “woven or woven-pushlock.” A maximum of 12 inches total (front to rear) of non-metallic or non-steel braided hose is permitted for connection purposes only; individual...

Olds ticket to 9s... LS swap adventure.

What’s the fuel line for? NHRA rules state no more than 12” of rubber line total. Going to need hard line or braided stainless.

    BUILD THREAD $1100 Olds 442

Not at the moment. I’m probably at the edge of needing a cage at the strip. Not sure I want to do that.

HELP TH400 issues with the shift linkage. What do I miss here?

It is close. But boiling point for dot 3 is 300-400 degrees. Doubtful the fluid gets that hot with a airgap between header and line. Even a small air gap.

HELP TH400 issues with the shift linkage. What do I miss here?

Mine had the olds motor so fuel lines were routed through the frame on the correct side. My headers were Dougs headers and I have maybe a 1/2” clearance on brake line. Not as much as I’d like.

HELP TH400 issues with the shift linkage. What do I miss here?

It shouldn’t be a problem. I have a 442 which I put a BBC and TH400 in. Linkage hooked up in OEM spot without issue. Something isn’t correct in your setup. One of the engine mount bolts hangs over the frame. You only utilize 3 of the 4 bolts for chevy engines.

    Harbor Freight

If you want to see the difference there is a you tube channel. AvE or BOLTR. Both searches should take you there. The guy is some sort of engineer or something. No one knows his identity but he is from Canada most likely. He completely tears the tool apart before he uses it. Checks quality of...

    Harbor Freight

I did compare both and then some. The NAPA one was clearly better produced. Thicker steel better welds etc. They are not the same.

Hand tools are one thing. I would never trust a jack or cherry picker etc from them. I bought a cherry picker from NAPA. It was maybe 50 more but there is a definite build quality difference.

Long term storage causing stale gas, does no favors

I put a full tank of 100 octane unleaded Sunoco race fuel. Good for up to a year for storage. 110 leaded is better as it can sit for 2 years according to Sunoco.
