    Stroker Olds or Cadi Swap?

The 455 would have more stroke than the 425 crank, but would I be able to turn it down enough to clear?

    Stroker Olds or Cadi Swap?

Does anyone know if the olds 455 crank would fit just like a 425 in a diesel block? Or are the counterweights too big?....

    Stroker Olds or Cadi Swap?

The dx block would hold up better I feel like if I raced it a lot. And sometimes you gotta do something just to say you did. If I found a decent BBO then I might, but either way I'd have to rebuild it.

    Stroker Olds or Cadi Swap?

Honestly I'm gonna start looking for both the 425 crank and a 500 motor. Where I live the boneyards don't get picked over for that stuff and I could get lucky. I have connections to do the machine work, maybe not for the crank but for just about anything else. Custom pistons? Rods? no big deal...

    Stroker Olds or Cadi Swap?

What rods and pistons would I use with a 425 crank? and whats the difference between the 425 crank and the 455? If I did stroke the block I have, I'd want at least 400 cubes. what crank would get me closer to that ball park? Also, what to do about the gap left by the injector pump on the DX...

    Stroker Olds or Cadi Swap?

So I have a pretty clean '81 cutlass with the 350 diesel. I love the diesel but I want to go a different route this summer. I'm torn between keeping it original or making it a little more mean though. From what I understand a Oldsmobile big block crank and heads will fit on a small block? Would...

    Diesel works!! What next?

I'm curious if the cams for the diesel and gas 350's are interchangeable, just out of curiosity...

    Diesel works!! What next?

I know the gear ratio is 2.29, but I need to double check what transmission I have.

    Diesel works!! What next?

That's very good to know! I will be sure to do that. I will enjoy my ride no matter what, just seeing what else I could do to her 'cause that's the fun part about cars. I agree about the intake and exhaust, I'll see what happens. Who knows maybe someday I'll get a different engine but for now I...

    Diesel works!! What next?

I'll definitely try better intake and headers. Does the main problem of not being able to build these things stem from the head gaskets blowing out under more pressure? Anyway of fixing that besides adding better studs?

    Diesel works!! What next?

I finally got my diesel running. Runs pretty good as she is but what could be done to enhance the performance of these things? Gearing? Intake or exhaust parts? I understand they were never meant to be much more than what I have now... but anybody know something I don't?

Olds diesel, sat for 8 years

Finally got all my electrical bugs worked out.Checked my compression, 300 psi was all. Shouldn't it be upwards of 400?

Olds diesel, sat for 8 years

So, I checked my glow plugs, they look pretty good. There is fuel coming out my lines but it looks kinda weak. Definitely gonna get a new starter and check the injection pump. I understand these engines often blew head gaskets so if it's not the pump and it's compression then that's what I'll...

Olds diesel, sat for 8 years

So, I did bleed the lines and there still isn't anything happening. Could it be my compression?

Olds diesel, sat for 8 years

Just got a Cutlass Supreme diesel. Hasn't ran in at least 8 years but it was well taken care of when it ran. At first she wouldn't crank over, but I replaced the starter solenoid, drained the tank, and replaced the fuel filter. Now it'll crank but she wont start up. There is fuel getting all...
