I had the same issue ended up just removing old shifter all together and replacing with B&M Z-Gate and B&M cable. Problem solved....

What should the bracket look like? Everything was kinda rigged on this car. This is what was on it, but couldn’t get it to go into al the gears, and ended up cracking the plastic on it.

Dude thats the exact one that came off the car but I couldnt figure the damn bracket out or theres something missing. the plastic on the end broke though.

Looking for recommendations to replace the entire shifter in my 85 Monte SS, 350 small block with TH350 transmission. (Having trouble finding a cable to work with shifter that is in the car now. )

Im no mechanic so dont flame me for not knowing, but where do you hook up the kick down or do you need it? I have an 85 Monte SS that has it just hanging next to the carb. Came like that and in the process of fixing the car, and not really sure about this.

So that should be plugged into distributor? Its wrapped around that way, but just hanging there.

But what does this wire do? The power runs to distributor, but as seen in pics it isnt connected to anything.

Gotcha... Thanks! The headers yea theyre tight on both sides. When I took them out I had the engine tilted back because I had no mounts in underneath.
