    Engine mount adapters

The Metaltek MFG mounts and the Holley 302-3 pan are a great fit! Plenty of clearance oil pan to K member, and air conditioning compressor to K member. I am running the Speed Engineering 1 3/4" long tube headers, and there is the typical issues with clearance with the passenger's side frame...

    Engine mount adapters

I used the Holley 302-3. It is the one Holley specifically mentioned the G-Body cars in the description. That is why I chose it over the 302-2.

    Steam vents

My 5.3 LM7 truck engine came with just the front 2 plumbed. The rears were capped/plugged from the factory. Only seems doing something like this and plumbing all four would be a good idea. Thoughts?

    MALIBU Shorty Headers

What shorty headers is anyone using on their 5.3 ls install? Looking at shorty headers to maintain/increase the low end torque. 1979 Malibu is going to be a daily driver. Was told by Speed Engineering that these will work. Thoughts?

    F-Body accessory brackets

Does anyone have a couple pictures of an ls installation with F-body accessory brackets with the low mount alternator? Looking to see how well this setup works with a power steering box. Looking at this type of set up.

    Speedmaster throttle body?

That’s what I’m trying to figure out. Is it even possible to tune? Or if I’m looking at a ton of time and $$$ at a professional and on a dyno. Not looking for anything more than a street tune

    Speedmaster throttle body?

So, is it possible to use a Holley intake and a Speedmaster or Holley throttle body instead of an ls1,ls6, or truck intake on a 5.3 ls motor with a modified factory harness and reflashed computer? I prefer the old school/retro sleeper look.

    Rear quarter glass

Does anyone have a good write up with pictures on removing, resealing and reinstalling the rear quarter glass on a two door? I got one window that’s leaking a little in the rain, and both have the lower quarter moldings deteriorated. I can get those moldings from Dixie Restoration.

Swap mounts and A/C to boot?

I have searched the forums over and over without finding a solid answer. So, at the risk of sounding redundant, I’ll go ahead and ask my question. I have a 1979 Malibu. I am planning on a 5.3 ls swap. Going to use the Holley 302-2 pan, most likely Hooker cast iron headers or Speed Engineering...

The recovery is coming along. Better than that, the ls swap planning is coming along too! Thanks Longroof!

Sorry Longroof. I planned on getting started with my ls swap, but unfortunately was stopped in my tracks just three days after posting my intro by having and fortunately surviving a widow-maker heart attack. Only 52, so yeah, that was a surprise. Getting my strength back, and spending the down...

Buick GNx sending unit and pump

Has anyone had success with using a Buick Grand National fuel tank sending unit and pump (or aftermarket high volume/pressure pump) in a 1978 and up Malibu fuel tank, Ls 5.3? Or has anyone modified an original Malibu sending unit to work with an in-tank electric pump, and added a return line?

New to the forum from MS

New guy here. Have owned a 1979 Malibu for about 10 yrs now. It’s a 305cid / 200M trans. Two of my daughters each drove it thru high school. I got to drive it a couple times here and there. When I could get the keys away from them! Lol. Well, they have all bought their own cars now, and the car...
