man i'm sooo mind boggled over these damn bolts i never welded before and i need to get a Haborfreight welder and i hope it works out because this is more work then what i planned, but i just keep telling my self it's going to save the cars life

ok so pretty much i have to cut the floor where the bolts are and get them out that way.. can someone post a pic of what it looks like once you open up the floor just to have an idea what i'm going to be dealing with... thankyou

so far 3 bolts are just spinning , so since i cant see inside as it's spinning what are my options here.. what do i do? i need to get the body off this frame since some have broke. i feel like i'm kinda screwed

i'm in the same boat the top rusted off so what i was thinking was getting new bumper shocks, and just cut off the top on the old one and weld that in so the top can be bolted in. it was a thought havent actually looked to see if it works

ohh never mind as i looked at the picture it's part of the die when it formed thought that was cracked... but anyway the driven gear is orange and the drive is yellow and before the posi it had 2.56 rear gears, and now i have 3.08 so what color gears do i need??

well since there's no snow and i have the time i pulled the 350 trans out, and since i put in my posi with 3.08 i need to know what driven and drive gears i had and i noticed stress marks or heat cracks? on the inside, dont know much about trans so not sure if there is normal

thats awesome man... so easy to do wish i knew about this 3 years ago i would have done this instead of paying 180 each for gm backing plates stock for my car... damn, great vid very very useful but thats another project down the road

is there a difference in structure from a 80 t-top to 85-86 t top car. any improvements added

wow noticed my car dont have these :? i wondered why they bolted it to the frame does anyone make replacements ?

Re: restoration progress more pics! thats something i did not think was going to happen i never welded before so this will definitely be a challenge, however still more cutting involved , if you click the pics you'll see that one of them i'm not even thinking cutting away the cancer...

yea everything moves freely i'm not sure how long its been off but it was in use and his a car guy so i know its not broke or anything of that but if you click on the pics just seems like alittle tlc would be appreciated i'm just not a mechanic with carbs and dont want to mess it up haha

hey good people.. a friend of mine gave me his carb that he had on his vette it's 75 quadrajet i'm thankful for it because i cant afford one right now with not working so it doesnt look to good though how do i go about cleaning this? here the pics
